Singapore will design a US$700,000 (S$1 million) technical assistance package administered by the Singapore Cooperation Programme as part of its support for the Palestinian people.
This was announced by Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Balaji Sadasivan at the International Conference of Donors for the State of Palestine in Paris on Monday.
He said Singapore stands prepared to share its experience with Palestinian officials in areas that may be relevant to the 2008-2010 Palestinian Reform and Development Plan.
He added that Singapore has consistently taken a principled position in support of an independent Palestinian state and, at the same time, Singapore supports the right of Israel to live in security. - CNA/ch
