My point is : Let the schools teach everything about what happened in the past.......not some sanitised version.
To quote the Plen:
He added that after the 1955 constitutional arrangements came into effect, "none of the politicians, including those who cooperated openly with the colonial masters, such as C.C. Tan, John Laycock, Lim Yew Hock, Chew Swee Kee and others, were 'dealt with' or 'harmed'."
"Historical truths cannot be distorted," he said.
"But as a party to the struggle, if I do not have the opportunity at all to speak, how will historians be able to discover the truth?" he asked.
================
What he meant was that he allowed all these people to live, although he could have destroyed eveyone, including PAP leaders. hence his role in history should be openly assessed.

The man who allowed everyone to live......he could have destoyed everyone if he so ordered the Communist terrosists under his command....
