to add, frankly, i also dont understand the taking sides thing, the conspiracy theoriesOriginally posted by eagle:Taking the majority views is one matter
Talking without sufficient facts, research and analysis is another matter.
For your information, I'm referring to the second one.
The government is indeed not of the best, but to claim they are good or bad without anything to substantiate... what would that make you?
I can't understand why can't everyone be more objective, cool-headed and factual.... Do emotions really bring you far or give you more credibility?
Sigh...
if u tok about facts taken from Straits Time, u can forget bout it since the media here r pappy servants who only trying to write a bunch of 'goodwill' business report.Originally posted by eagle:Taking the majority views is one matter

facts can be taken from straits times what... I mean, the statements made by ministers (which can be rather idiotic sometimes) can be lifted from there too...Originally posted by 798:if u tok about facts taken from Straits Time, u can forget bout it since the media here r pappy servants who only trying to write a bunch of 'goodwill' business report.
the pple here r sick of those bias news which only report the good side of government. ever since they claim singapore economy is blooming, the living cost also increase sharply.
i agree there r a bunch of whiners who cant do anything except being armchair critic. well some might even be pappy in disguise who try to say thing but mean another.
We like our country but don't like the gov (a.k.a PAP). Singapore isn't PAP and PAP isn't Singapore. Please get this right before making silly remark.Originally posted by eagle:Complains complains complains.... Might as well go wet markets/coffee shops complain to the old uncles and aunties there...
But got simple solution mah:
You don't like the country, you leave the country. What's stopping you? But if you have left the country, why do you still want to come back to complain?
Complain can, but might higher quality complains... Not complains that come from 'evidence' from what you have experienced... Like that complain might as well go to Whinehouse to complain about your experiences... Not speaker's corner...
You like the country, you stay and make sure the government does its job properly by casting your votes properly. Or at least, give proper facts, research and analysis before an attempt to discredit the government.
There are a few attitudes in this forum (feel free to add on):
1) Only know how to complain but do nothing {not even some simple research to substantiate} (armchair general)
2) Complain without proper facts, evidence and research (baseless allegations)
3) Complain wrongly liao start personal attacks, which is out of point from the original thread (sore loser)
Fortunately, this forum is somewhat saved by a few rather good threads, although such threads do go out of point sometimes.
Sigh...
Aren't you being hypocritical by complaining about those complaining?Originally posted by eagle:Complains complains complains.... Might as well go wet markets/coffee shops complain to the old uncles and aunties there...

I think good is from his perspective, other views are considered bad.Originally posted by Poh Ah Pak:What topic is considered "good" and what is considered "bad"?
I think good is from his perspective, other views are considered bad. Then that is like Lee Kuan Yew.
I do see many forum members producing facts from other sources in their discussions. The reason they do so is because ST has selectively chose what to print and what not to print. Many people know that ST is a govt mouthpiece.Originally posted by eagle:Taking the majority views is one matter
