Well, there are people who don't dare to give others a chance, they rather choose to suffer under the PAP. People like that have to change their mentality. PAP and lky are smart they know the weaknesses of the people and know where and when to take advantage.Originally posted by 798:this is the type of NATO pple we have in sg.
just like some of pple here who let heaven to decide their fate by casting void vote. their excuse: No Credible Opposition! well pap win of course by default.
talking about this, you should see how my peers suddenly become quiet when I talk about the PAPOriginally posted by qlqq9:So does that means this is the reason why they are paying themselves that sort of super world class pay?
Many people are still fearful to talk about PAP in the public, so I wonder if their mentality will ever change, pathetic!
Do you see any hope in these people to vote PAP out? Sometimes, I rather talk to foreigners than locals. Many foreigners I talk to have a good feel about the politics here and there are times they bring up good points for consideration. For eg, someone told me gahmen here make Singaporeans live within the fence. A number of China nationals told me they will go back China once they earn $$$$ for Singapore is not a good place to stay when they grow old.Originally posted by eagle:talking about this, you should see how my peers suddenly become quiet when I talk about the PAP
Ironically, one of my frens from China (who is also very interested in Sg politics like me), is more vocal about policies than most sgreans when we talk in public![]()
Well, foreigners (of course not from China and India :lolOriginally posted by qlqq9:Do you see any hope in these people to vote PAP out? Sometimes, I rather talk to foreigners than locals. Sigh! Many are not interested to do anything and worse so fearful to even talk about PAP. No wonder PAP are getting more and more daring to get what they want.Originally posted by 798:if u realise, even the malaysians n indonesians r more vocal about the politices here which is none of their business.
maybe the current young sgeans r giving up hope n not interested in politic anymore leaving sg to be slaughter slowly.
WE are talking about politics you are talking about food.Originally posted by eagle:Well, foreigners (of course not from China and India :lolalso tell me how surprised they are with the price of outside food here. I myself have been on student exchange and immersions to Germany, and tour around some other countries beside Germany, so I can concur with them easily that the price of food here is really low.
There are both good points and bad points la.... I mean, which other first world country can you get a meal for <1.5 euros?
i think he is trying to say though sg standard of living has increased at least basic necessities of food are not that beyond reach we still can have a decent hawker meal compared to other countries. so we shld not only look at the negative pts but also positive ones here.Originally posted by qlqq9:WE are talking about politics you are talking about food.![]()

This I have to agree with you. Whenever I talked negatively about PAP in public places, my friends will show me a "I am not interested" or "dun get me into trouble" looks. so no choice no point in continuing to talk since they are not interested.Originally posted by qlqq9:Sigh! He is trying to say there is no perfect country. True the prices of food here are cheaper compared to western countries.Originally posted by bryanw:i think he is trying to say though sg standard of living has increased at least basic necessities of food are not that beyond reach we still can have a decent hawker meal compared to other countries. so we shld not only look at the negative pts but also positive ones here.![]()
YOu can do your part. Subtlely influence them to be interested to voice their concern about the way we are treated by the gahmen. Isn't it sad that people are so fearful or indifferent? If the people here don't give a damn, who will - foreigners? We owe it to ourselves to decide our destiny.Originally posted by Spartans:This I have to agree with you. No matter how I wish to chat with them about the local politics, political happenings, government new policies, most of my friends will have a "Do you think I care" looks. What more can I say? Usually what happened next is a change of topic to some other things like study, food,...Originally posted by qlqq9:YOu can do your part. SAd but that is reality you are facing, I,too, face the same. But I am bold to believe and stand firm to speak forth the truth. Don't give up. I will usually tell them they have to be responsible as we are all living in Singapore, if we don't care then nobody will.Originally posted by Spartans:No matter how I wish to chat with them about the local politics, political happenings, government new policies, most of my friends will have a "Do you think I care" looks. Only a rare few will dare to pinpoint the wrongs of the PAP in public.
But somehow whenever I am chatting with these rare few bolding friends about PAP, we tend to attract curious, if not hostile eyes glances from people nearby. weird.
you know what,Originally posted by youyayu:suggestion is better then complain... =)
of did I mention that the rare few bold friends are mostly Malaysians? haiz... But still got 1 or 2 Singaporeans la.Originally posted by qlqq9:SAd but that is reality you are facing, I,too, face the same. But I am bold to believe and stand firm to speak forth the truth. Both of you are correct la...Originally posted by qlqq9:He is trying to say there is no perfect country. True the prices of food here are cheaper compared to western countries.
It is cost of living that has been increasing constantly not the standard of living. Well, PAP does not play a part in deciding for the hawkers how much they should be charging the food.
well, grass is greener on the other side.Originally posted by eagle:Both of you are correct la...
Anyway, it is my German teacher who tells the whole class that she likes Singapore, which is why she move here to teach German. Being a language teacher, she can actually go to any other country to teach, but she chose Singapore because she likes here. Said while explaining in a lesson on foreigners in Germany in the past, a similar situation to that in Singapore now.
My Japanese teacher also told us that she moved here because she likes it. Said in a lesson on adjectives.
These are foreigners/people not really planning to move back to their home country or another country, but stay here because they like here.
Yes!Originally posted by 798:well, grass is greener on the other side.

I have to say singapore is a safe and generally clean place to live in. Further more there is no winter here, which is hell of problem. Anyway sg is not a bad place to stay after all if u compare, however, there is still alot of things to concern to ensure the things stay in this way or improve in the future.Originally posted by eagle:Both of you are correct la...

We complain a lot about our country, the teachers actually promote their country.
There are also hundreds of thousands of Singaporeans who are not planning to come home because they like it there.Originally posted by eagle:Both of you are correct la...

what? so all these discussions about taxes, housing prices, quality of living in different countries etc are met out by KIDS in this forum??!Originally posted by maurizio13:Children should not engage in politics, because they have hardly live and worked in the system. They know very little about the outside world other than the confines of school and home. So...., maybe you should finish your education, finish your national service and work a few years before engaging in political discussions. As such, you hardly see any pre-pubescent politician in parliament. More often so, when these children are the result of propaganda supplanted by the dominant political party now.![]()

Yah. Your complain is different, but a complain is nevertheless a complain, as stated by your topic "This forum is mostly complaints wor".![]()
Same logic as P4P dude, they have double standards in evaluating issues. Opposition wards don't qualify for upgrading, but P4P wards qualify for upgrading. Makes sense? Opposition wards are NOT Singaporeans, all the opposition wards must have lots of foreign talents.
Anyway, your school holidays is just about over, time to get back to school to study. Study well, get good grades, hope you qualify for further education in one of the prestigous universities overseas.
As it would prove, you don't even have knowledge of what qualifies a person as an immigrant in another country. Not every Tom, Dick and Harry qualifies for immigration to a similar country.![]()
What other topics do you want to teach us grown up folks?![]()
I don't participate in political discussions with small boys who haven't even make their keep to support themselves.
Good luck!
