Possibility, because Musharraf put Bhutton under house arrest, but subsequently released her after he announced elections.
He must have been confident of winning the election, that's why he removed the house arrest orders and allowed Bhutto to proceed with her campaign.
His confidence must somehow or rather anticipated her demise. -

It smells like an inside job. If he wasn't confident of winning the election, he would have incarcerated her until after the election.
Of course this is all circumstantial. -

If she really was sincere in doing something right, she should quit and sponsor a better man for the job with her ill gotten gains from her swiss account...
Donate all the money she took and build schools and hospitals in pakistan rural areas and repent..maybe she will get some respect -

Somehow if one is a serious political watcher, no one will think bhutto family is really serious in reforming the country given the interests the feudal families have on the state..anyway it's too late now for any real reforms since militancy has taken over...they feed on each other based on power and money

Read LKY's memoir. In one chapter, he ridiculed Bhutto and companies for their excesses and corruption. He choose crafted words (for diplomacy, I guess). But if you read between the lines, Ms Bhutto was trying to get LKY and Sg to invest in Pakistan's mega projects. Projects with no or little prospect of seeing the seed money again.
Many foreign politicians are not anything like our local's. Together with their extreme supporters, hungry masses, uneducated, no future citizens, they are wayang to the extreme - with or without Oxford or Harvard degrees. -
I met a pakistani and contrary to what the western media portrays, the locals find Bhutto and the other Nawaz Sharif to be very corrupted. Musharraf was the good guy who deposed the corrupted politicians. Pakistanis experienced better life under Musharraf than Benazir Bhutto or Nawaz Sharif. The Nawaz Sharif, i heard was corrupted to the core...
