Peel Regional Police on Tuesday released the name of a 16-year-old Mississauga teen who died after allegedly being attacked by her father.
Aqsa Parvez was found in her Longhorn Trail home on Monday morning without any vital signs.
Paramedics revived her and took her to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, where she died late Monday night.
Police said they received a call from a man who said he'd just killed his daughter.
The victim's father, Muhammad Parvez, 57, was arrested at the scene. He will appear in court on Tuesday and face murder charges.
Aqsa Parvez's friends told CBC News that the teen had been having arguments with her father because he allegedly wanted her to wear a traditional hijab.
"She kinda wanted to go a different way from the way her family wanted her to go," said one friend.
Waqas Parvez, the victim's 26-year-old brother, has also been arrested and charged with obstructing police. -

So, it makes me wonder why he chose to settle in a liberal country that respects human rights, that's totally contradictory to his beliefs.

There is no honour in killing your defenseless daughter or sister. Arab men (notice I did not say Muslim, cause honour killing a purely Arab atrocity) ought to wake up their idea.

People:
Does human live by tradition as a guiding reference or do we make up tradition as we go along so long it is to our convinent? Does tradition really dictate that much that goes beyond common sense? that we don;t questions?
We read this article and we judged; that is normal. But lets review our own dirty lundary within our culture heritage ? A patriarch enviornment that are rewarded if we are obedient. Believes that runs in our subconsious that we grew acustom thru in our system but how relevant in humanity.
A religion overtone of few thousand years does make a good cover up for tradition after all if anything goes wrong we can "blamed" the west or the false teaching.
It is one thing to learn from the Teaching, but it is another to apply the wrong lesson. -

You have to distinct the different between actual and perceived.
I think we should forgive, but it is ever more necessary to forgive all those teenagers who does not follow tradition, by accepting them as who they are after all they are only teenagers they are still evolving.
