Do you think its easy to get a 100% subsidy off your tuition fees? Talking bout Scholarship? i think u re a suppose to get like 99.9% perfect academic results to be awarded the scholarship. -
there is no subsidy. the only subsidy that Malays get are from Mendaki.
and Mendaki gets its money from Muslim workers by deducting money from their salaries every month. compulsory.
Mendaki does not deduct money from Chinese workers. or indian workers. unless they are muslims.
so this subsidy to muslims is the community's money anyway. like i said, read the link i gave above. -

For example, the aborigines in australia, fiji, etc still get free education.
In Singapore, the aboriginal Singaporeans (Malays) used to get free education.
But around the 1990s, LKY abandoned the policy for the sake of meritocracy. Now we no longer receive.
the subsidy we receive is from Mendaki, deducted from Muslim workers pay - administered by Mendaki. -

Myth: Malays Receive Free Education
One of the sore points many Singaporeans on the Internet have regarding our Malays is the notion that we are receiving “free education” from the state even through polytechnic and university.
Free education for indigenous people is a legacy brought about by the British to protect the original inhabitants of a country. It is still widely practised in other Commonwealth nations such as Australia and New Zealand where the aborigines are fully subsidised in tertiary institutions.
However the legacy for tertiary fees has been dismounted by the Government since 1991. While students coming from households earning less than $1500 a month will be put through a subsidy programme via Mendaki ( a Malay version of the Chinese CDAC and Indian SINDA), the majority of Malay students in polytechnics and universities today are there on tuition fees fully paid for by their parents. Be rest assured that your Malay countrymen are working and saving just as hard as you are to support their children's tertiary educations.

mr al haddad. the money for the subsidy for the university tuition fees come from the Singapore Government . Not from Muslims workers or charities or funds...

The Fund is from the Singapore Government.To start of, the government gave MENDAKI an initial sum of S$10 million. A further S$7 million was given in December 1991 due to the increased number of Malay students eligible for tertiary education. This fund is not taken from the Mosque Building and MENDAKI Fund contributed by Muslim employees. The surplus from the administration of the TTFS is then used for other education-related activities conducted by MENDAKI.
