Have they lost their 'sight'? What was the original objective? Fairprice 'told' to help low-income group...
I hope FairPrice will set up such a store for the lower- income families and low- wage foreign workers in Singapore. Such a concept store should be able to reduce food prices by at least 20 to 40 per cent. Syu Ying Kwok

Leave Cold Storage to meet the needs of the rich in Singapore instead of having FairPrice Xtra), since FairPrice cannot compete with Cold Storage as one of the post suggested.

Our civic leaders seem to be under the misconception that NTUC has the cheapest prices anywhere in Singapore. For instance I recall the advice given to 'blurblur' some time ago from her MP to shop at Fairprice for the best deal (sic!) & then failing to deliver promised vouchers.

There have been instances when I've found prices at Cold Storage lower than those at (not-so-)Fairprice.
And NTUC is supposed to be looking out for the welfare of ordinary workers. Go figure that.

NTUC FairPrice is moving the other way to target the middle and upper middle income earners with their new stores like FairPrice Finest & FairPrice Xtra.
Like how public housing going premium housing, over S$700,000 for a new HDB five room flat, middle income earners are the next big spenders, likewise for supermarkets going premium.
Low income earners are never in the radar screen for many businesses.
