LKY said on his visit to Suharto in hospital that Indonesians are not being grateful to Suharto. He said that as long as there is progress and development corruption and cronyism do not matter.
Alert, alert, People of Singapore, look what MM said! It is dangerous and definitely detrimental to Singapore to have such a dictator called LKY. So we can safely say that he is paying himself super high pay because he contributed to singapore. So I see, contribution supersedes corruption and cronyism. yes there was corruption,MM lee said, but there was progress and development, which means singapore has progress and development, its ministers may corrupt, it does not matter. The government always tie corruption with low salary, which means all the ministers may corrupt given lower salary, this show they dont serve with full heart, $$$ is in their mind

his statements did not condone corruption or cronyism.
he merely indicated to not forget the good that suharto did bring to indonesia.
it can be paraphrased, into...
although there was corruption and cronyism, but through suharto's leadership, he brought real growth and development to indonesia.
this is a fact that must not be forgotten.
you have to be objective when placing blame as well as giving credit when it is due. -

Suharto; can't said he is a great leader but I just like to highlight the very basic changes in our history. Perharps some of u here take for granted. Certainly grateful that he did not continue to take the military course against SG. after Sukarno's konfrontasi policy.
Not sure if some of u would still be here writting if history were to play out different? -
Hes getting worse.. Immune system seems to failing and doctors inhibits ppl to visit him now except his own family to minimise contact

Corruption is fine, so long as the country prospers. Hello? Corruption is corruption no matter how you try and mitigate it. Stealing money because you need to feed your family is still a crime, despite the nobility of it.
Is our MM Lee completely SENILE?! Going around mouthing such trash to reporters? Why not add on a few extra lines: oh no, Suharto was stupid. He should have legitimised a pay rise for his 'administrators' so it's legal and he wouldn't be charged.

It just means that when one looks at things, one must be objective. There are always good points and bad points. Purely looking only at one spectrum is, to copy a word from Andrew, delusional.
