i didnt want to emigrate but i have little choices left.
seeing my peers that are struggling with work, finance and the imminent jobless nes, it really scared me. i had struggled with studies and work for so long, now face another challenge and that is providing for my family.
the day i depart from changi airport for my emigration, i nearly cried. -

one family with 1000 dollar income can have 3-4 children...
another family with 100,000 dollar income say they cannot afford to have more then 2 children... in fact one is more then they could handle....
dont like FTs??? have more local babies lah..... so simple....
cannot afford? ok..... lets cut your salary down to 1,000 dollar... then you can have 3-4 babies.... -

Remember : Migration is not for anyone. Not anyone qualifies to be migrated. Those who CAN and are AYE-BER to only QUALIFIES to emigrate. Those who wanna but does not qualify, either by way of international market value , skills and wealth, cannot, I stress, cannot migrate successfully.
Look at the ah bengs uncles and young ah bengs. how do you expect them to qualify? unless they filty rich.

tell u a little known fact.....singapore is not enforcing its no dual citizenship policy....
have known a couple of cases where singaporean left and took up citizinship elsewhere. however, they r not require to renounce their singapore citizenship. some happily came back for hols with the non-singapore passports. no probs whatsoever....
the truth is singapore is not willing to let true blue singaporeans go....clutching at straws as those who left r arledi dismiss singapore as their homeland. -

If a country loses its citizens to other countries like Myanmar is it something to be proud off?
It looks like we are the only government which loses tens of thousands of its own talents to other countries and the government simply shrugs off the whole issue as if it is normal or due to globalization or inevitable.
Just imagine such a low standard its has gone down to failures disregarded as non-issue. Which other countries have the cheek to claim such migration of its talents to be non-issue and still regards itself a successful country. It is like a parent losing its children who due to mistreatment or whatever decided to leave home and the parents still proudly claim success in parenthood or parents' success.
That is the key issue here. It has been shrugged off by our government as if it is something inevitable. It is not !! It the government is caring and treating its people with respect and fairness such a brain drain should not happen.
There is a critical need for the government to look into which of its policies and actions have caused its people to migrate by tens of thousands per year.
Something is seriously wrong with government policies and the quality of its government.
The foreigners who are initially attracted here because of jobs could also see through the hypocrisy and may not stay long or take root here too and will only use us as a stepping stone if the government still does not change its many present oppressive policies towards its own people.
I will say that it reflects badly on the government. -
I also hope the Government will look beyond the Foreign Talent band aid.

if 85,000 Singaporeans leave, they will always get 170,00 foreigners to replace them.

MM Lee insisted for years his many policies were the solutions for the country and they were obeyed without questioning by the MPs, civil servants or the public. Such policies as he believed in were practically forced down the throats of the people.
Just ask ourselves this question: why should Ngiam side with the people who complained about such wrongful policies.
What has Ngiam to gain in bringing such matter to public attention?
Truths have their way with right-thinking and righteous people like Catherine Lim or Ngiam Tong Dow or even other reputable insiders of the ruling party like Devan Nair or Ong Teng Cheong.
As long as some policies were not right and have caused suffering of the people, truths will eventually prevail.
MM Lee may use all kinds of hypocrisy to deny them but he would not be able to do so all the time as seen happening in NKF.
He may call critics all sorts of names like armchair critics, anti-government, lawless elements, quitters, insurgents or sour grapes or ungrateful but truths will prevail.
Just ask ourselves this question, why should people in high position like Ngiam Tong Dow side with these views. Is it not the case of Truths having a life of its own. -
