Ten years ago they thro the likes of Soros and hedge funds caused the Asian Financial Crisis that later spread like a disease to other parts of the world necessating IMF intervention.
Today we have the subprime crisis ... the result of their 'papers' for such instruments crashing down in values when the bottom fell off.
For your information the Great Depression was started and caused by Goldman Sachs(wh incidentally is a major benefactor of the subprime crisis).
When is the rest of the 'ferking world' waking up and stop listening to the 'beggar thy neighbours' nonsense being dished out by Wall Street?

GOOGLE trading at -0.10% in after hours while index futures minus 4%.
hmm...maybe nasdaq 100 index might outperform S&P 500 because S&P 500 has a high weight in financial stocks. -

Bank refuse to lend money to SMB > SMB cannot buy products from Microsoft > Microsoft revenue drops..
Large blue chip firms may have surplus cash or even reserve funds but they will not dip into those.
Look at Sun Microsystems and where they are today. They have huge surplus and reserve but revenue keeps slipping; causing operating cost to plunge into the negative. They cannot use their surplus funds to keep their headcounts or buy their own products. In fact, they are lucky that others had not acquire them as those surplus will also go towards the company does so..
1) First attempt will be to freeze hiring
2) Second attempt to reduce headcount so operating cost if positive
3) Last attempt to take drastic measures to cut cost
If your company is doing any of the 3 above... good luck. -
