It now looks like that there might be another rate cut of a half-percent.
The US FED is trying to save the stock markets with massive rate cuts.
We might see a Chinese New Year Rally (from the low after all)
My guess is unless you have taken my advice way back in Nov 2007, most people would be licking their wounds instead of taking advantage of the situation.....
The massive rate cuts have long term implications for the global economy....
Singapore, as you know cannot cut rates because the interest rates are practically negative already.
If you know the long term implications of all these rate cuts, you can make lots of money by putting your money in the right places.
Sentiments are certainly changing for the better in the stock markets.
If you know the implications of these massive rate cuts, you can know where to put your money.
Before you get funny ideas, remember that you need to know why people win as well as why people lose, before you try to profit from the markets or you end up wiping out your money instead of making more money.
What to look out for?
Commodities FUTURES and FOREX trades... but my advice to you is stay clear of these.

I dont bear personal grudge at anyone in sgforums. When Andrew Yap talked sense, i feel obliged to encourage and support him. Should I say "Constructive interference?" Perhaps to "guide" him in the correct direction ?
Honestly, it is true that futures trading entails bigger than normal risks. Due to its negative carry interest rate and leverage, it is normally used as a hedging instrument and short term speculation.
Hence, what Andrew talked about futures trading makes some sense. -

Even as the markets kept coming down, until it made the front pages of the newspapers and the US FED had to do highly risky things to save the markets.
