anyways it only affects rich ppl, nothing much to do with us

SINGAPORE, Jan 25 - Shares of Straits Trading rose as much as 7 percent to S$6.11 with 40,000 shares traded on hopes of a bidding war between Tecity group and the family that owns the Overseas-Chinese Banking Corp .
The Lee family, which controls OCBC, made a $1.3 billion counterbid for the commodities and property firm on Thursday. They offered S$5.76 per share, as compared to Tecity Group's previous offer of S$5.70 per share.

The company you work for probably keeps a certain amount of it's wealth in liquid form to pay salaries, bills etc and keeps the rest in assets. Stocks and shares may make up a part of their assets.
If their assets lose value, when it comes time to convert them to cash to pay bills, there will be no money. Other assets like factory equipment, inventory, or the property in which their business transact may not be as liquid. No money to do business so the company goes bankrupt. So you lose your job.
You start looking for a new job but many companies have been hit similarly and they are cutting staff to stay in business.
You start living off your savings. The bank your money is in goes bankrupt because they overextended themselves. Your family starts to starve.
The Government starts to give out free food to keep the population from starving to death. You don't want to depend on handouts, they make you feel vulnerable and helpless.
You smuggle yourself overseas to get a job and earn money. They spit on you and call you brown monkey and beat you for taking their jobs but still you work like a slave for a miserable wage to support your family in Singapore.
Are you getting worried yet? -

Andrew didn't consider that the rest of the world would not want another World Wide crash again...... The Feds had already did what was deed impossible a few years back..... by doing an emergency rates cut..... and they, with the rest of the Worlds Govt, would do more again to prevent another crash.
If the 'Experts' knows everything...... the US Banks wouldn't be having the Sub-prime crisis now, would they..... And Andrew would be a millionair because he is SOOOO Correct all the time..... -

I'll just say I don't believe the Experts, the US banks, the World banks and the American Federal Bank necessarily have the same points of view or the same objectives. And I'd like to consider all points of views and see the arguments for them all. -

My only hobby is Photographary, Travelling & Scuba Diving....... best if travel + diving goes together.
I don't own a car or even a bike (self power or leg power)...... I have my own 4 Room HDB flat...... I also live simply and does not owe any debt to any Banks...... except to HDB of course.
So tell me..... how difference am I from you -
