omg this is the first time I see somebody fighting for the welfare of ministers!Originally posted by deathbait:Yes, because when it comes to YOU, YOU deserve regular raises. YOU deserve big annual bonuses. But when it comes to ministers, THEY don't deserve a raise, ever.
I think you really should ask your priest how much he takes in a month before we go down this road.Originally posted by maurizio13:Yesh!!!
Ministers deserve to be greedy for money.
Ministers deserve to be selfish.
Ministers need to have extremely big fat bonuses.
Ministers need to think about their salaries first before the citizens.
This I totally agree with you.
But then what kind of morals do these Ministers have?
But then morals are secondary, what matters most is the money they can suck out of the system to buy their million dollar properties.
Notice, I am not disagreeing with you on this.![]()

Next we will have parish priest demanding they be paid their worth in the private sector.
Hardly. I'm implying that you are using a different stick of measure to guage ministers from yourselves, forgetting in the process that they too contribute to the society.Originally posted by eagle:I will ask you to do your own calculations on the percentage of the raise over the original salary of a salaried worker as compared to our dear ministers. Calculate and you will see how much percentage rise they have.
It's not like ALL public service workers get as much as up till 30% pay raise since the last salary increase of the ministers. If the ministers can get so much pay raise, pray, give me a good reason, why is it that not all public servants get at least 30+% pay raise?
Finally, are you saying that ministers do not get annual bonuses? You are implying that.
LOL, so who is doing the appraisal for the ministers? us? And do the ministers around the world has annual salary increment, performance bonuses? It make more sense to compare minister with minister and not minister with commoner.Originally posted by deathbait:Hardly. Do ministers get a salary increase annually? Do they get performance bonuses? The yardstick to measure the salary increments of ministers is totally different from ours, yet you choose to compare that with the salary of the common man.
Just because they both look round and are considered fruits does not mean you can compare apples and oranges.
correct, u are right....Originally posted by royston_ang:LOL, so who is doing the appraisal for the ministers? us? And do the ministers around the world has annual salary increment, performance bonuses? It make more sense to compare minister with minister and not minister with commoner.![]()

... I feel that this thread should be revisited ....
... the CPF Nightmares continue as they further tweak it for their own gains & self-preservation...

You are correct cause we're earning 1-2k++ when similar GDP countries workers are earning 3-4k
and here you are earning 1 million ++ and the top ministers around the world have half of that ![]()

Anyway, I agree with what that uncle said in his letter. It is rather unethical for them to stop us from using our money from our CPF to enlong our life.
What is private and public sector?
Isn't CPF our money? Even if we were to spend our medisave in a private or public hospital, they have no rights to stop us. It is for medical, right?
WTF is the lame excuse! Even if we were to spend money on flings, it is well spend... rather than having them locked up and we can't utilise a single cent!
Imagine, I was broke and I still had to top up my Medisave (already loaded with >$28,000) if I wanted a licence to make myself productive again. Simple: No Top Up, No Licence. This is what I know as Uniquely Singapore First World Standard of Whatever!
Under what circumstances will a person owe CPF? I do not understand - TS has >$28,000 and he still owe CPF? Is it that he has use up his other a/c?

I'm sure if you give me a few concrete examples I can show you why the figures are that way.
So sad.
After you retire at 55, you can't take out your all your CPF monies.
Instead, they "persuade" you to delay withdrawing CPF to an even later date so that the money can be kept with the CPF board even longer.
