  In areas such as indonesia or borneo,do the tribes need to pay tax like us or government just leave them alone assuming they are known to the people in the country?

  Not sure but you need to have income of a certain level in sg to pay tax. Don't think they have much income, if any at all. If they hunt and farm for their own food, i don't think they have to pay GST as well .

  I don't think it would be called tax.
  
  Probably called paying tribute or giving gifts or tithes or something else like that.
