Australians don't need to migrate to NZ.... they have good diplomatic ties.... citizens of NZ can work in Aus no need visa vice versa...
Run to Europe is an idea.... but i don't think its easy to get their citizenship .... then again i never bothered to find out -

Why it took few years for SG to experiment and run EZ-link card,but
costed Aussie almost A$100million and FAILED!!

1.no.1 reasons not to merge---
Sydney cannot complete cashless cards(like SG Ez-link card) for various
transport modes after spending A$95 million!!
not to mention the company is situated and listed in Australia!!
2.It took only few years from contract awarded to widely used in Spore
Instead, (the Transport Minister, John Watkins)he laid all blame for the chronically delayed project on the Perth contractor, ERG, which has implemented smart cards in cities including Hong Kong, Melbourne, Rome, San Francisco and Singapore.
Mr Watkins said the company's history was one of "missed deadlines and missed opportunities". He admitted Sydney's system was a complex job for ERG, but said it had gone into the contract "with their eyes open".
... Mr Watkins told a budget estimates hearing in October that the Government had spent $65 million on the Tcard project, but yesterday he increased that figure to $95 million.
A spokesman for Mr Watkins said: "The amount at 30 June 2007 was around $65 million. This was confirmed by the Auditor-General in his report. As the Auditor-General noted, the cost of the School Tcard was on top of this amount: about $15 million as at 30 June 2007.
"Since then, we have had a further six months of expenditure, including some significant invoices from RailCorp for the installation of equipment. RailCorp, as a party to the project, was acting as it should have under the contract."...
now even can be used in many shops,in Spore lah!!

The oz press are under tremendous competition pressure and also freedom, so they will make new out of any event they can get their hands on.
Sometime it is rather entertaining watching TV stations' current affair sections picking on one another.
And these are conveniently explored by Mr lion......

But what is the purpose of applying for PR if there are so much difference between the 2 countries ?
Also not all singaporeans will like the lay back OZ lifestyle. Neither does the Aussies.. -

But since i'm replying i'll give you a scenario ....
Applying for PR in certain countries are not cheap/easy..... takes up alot of time too......and sacrificing friends sometimes family. It is considered a privilege to have that option ...... perhaps you should draw your own conclusions why these people decided to make that move. If the 2 countries were the same why make the move?
As for Ozzies with that laid back lifestyle..... on a lighter note I'm lazy.... if it's laid back and i get paid well ..... who's complaining..... certainly not me. The Ozzies complaining about it? Lol meybe they should try working in Singapore?
I certainly believe some of them would prefer to work very hard for similar (if it is similar) wages. -

Oh and by the way, Australian govt tells its people that they should not try and compete with China in terms of labour cost cause it won't work here and is ridiculous......(i'll try and get you a quote if i can find it)....... what does SG govt tell you?

JONATHAN WEST: I think it's very important to know more about China - what will they export, what will they import, what is the government's policy, what is it aiming to do? And to find a relationship with China that is advantageous. There are products that Australia makes uniquely well, that it makes uniquely well at certain times of the year, that is the sort of thing that China is seeking to import. Seeking to compete with China on the basis of cost, on the basis of being in the same market that they're in where labour cost is critical, is a losing game. China's great advantage is not, as we often think of it, low cost, unskilled labour. Their great advantage is low cost, skilled labour. They graduate nowadays between 500,000 and one million engineers a year. Now, in Australia we graduate about 5,000. Those engineers are paid, to emphasise, one fifteenth of what we are paid. So they are very good at using skilled labour to add value to their products. Trying to fight that head-on is a dead-end game.
