Perhaps it is time we stop "bashing" our motherland unless its constructive. It is after all a place we called home.... friends.... cheap food.
We all may have our own reasons for leaving the homeland ..... be it differences in political beliefs or whatever.
Meybe a one party system is the best for Singapore.... its not like its going to
affect us is it?
Besides we are a minority ..... we might affect the votes somewhat still.... like 1%? meybe less
And different people have different opinions when politics are concerned ... its like food i may like tempuras and you may like unagis ..... who is to say which is better for the individual?
Debating is cool but at the end of the day I say just let them have what they want ...... vote what the majority votes.... they want PAP so be it I'll vote for your PAP.
If Singapore turns out to be a Unagi *yum* ok then return lor .... if PRC can get into the country you think its very hard to go back meh? Besides i hope you have not given up the passport yet
What if it turns out otherwise? .... labour costs in Singapore in a bid to be competitive with China dips ..... Good mah when you go back for holiday you don't want cheap food ar? If wages go up for us no good you know
and besides it encourages tourism if wages go down.... good for the country
As for FT's.... well just be competitive lor..... if you are now living in a country that buffers itself from foreign competition lucky lor.... meybe Singapore needs the FT to remain competitive with China? China labor costs very low you know. And it doesn't affect you anyway.
All in all vote for what they like ba take a gamble vote PAP
If it turns out good well you did the nation a good deed.... if not well ... tough luck i feel for you
