Upon reading Chia Ti Lik's blog, I am impressed with whatl he writes and how humbly he presents himself. As he positions himself as a promising, up and coming political leader with aims for entering political office and becoming responsible for the leadership of Singapore, I feel it is my duty to inform.
The purpose of this post is not to slam Chia Ti Lik, but as a social responsibility to speak up on what i know for people to judge and decide for themselves.
Although Mr Chia writes very eloquently in his blog about leadership and human rights, I believe his integrity and honesty as a man of character is questionable. The "domestic turmoil" he wrote about in his post entitled: "A little bet I placed with myself", refers to a breakdown in his marriage due to him committing adultry with a married woman who has 2 young children. After the affair was discovered, he attempted to end it, but succumbed to temptation a second time when the other woman offered to be his "mistress" and he decided that he would cheat on his wife a second time, he probably also enjoys the thrill of being unfaithful. As a result of this his wife decided to leave the marriage.
Its been a year since the "domestic turmoil" and Mr Chia has not be responsible in handling the divorce. When contacted to attend to necessary admin matters, he avoids it saying that he is "busy" or hides behind some work. He is probably not lying this time, as it is evident he is busy with acitivities in SG Human Rights, but one really begs the question about how effective or sincere a proponent can be about fighting for human rights and freedom, when one does not conduct one's own life with proper care, integrity and responsibility.
Is it a man's words or his deeds that defines his character?
please provide reliable source of information ..... thank you ....

adultery is commonplace in our society today, it is no longer a yardstick to judge a person's integrity.
seriously, i'm more concerned about handing the fate of my country to a bunch of guys who would succumb to corruption if their pay is equivalent to what the President of United States is getting.
that is integrity for you.

Bill Clinton received his urm undertable priviledges provided by Monica Lewinsky but that didn't make him a bad president.
i understand that there're MPs who're divorced
Evidence and proof?
politicians are human beings, they are subject to temptations also, just like health minister of malaysia, the porno VCD case. How u judge him, his contributions to the society or his sex lives ?

I disagree.
A person's action is derive from his/her values. Be it cheating, lying or corruption, the act is a result of the application of one's values and beliefs in life.
If a person can cheat on his wife, the person closest to him, what is stopping him from cheating on the public, a faceless mass, if the opportunity arises? If a person can derive thrill from committing adultry, how would this sense of thrill be different from embezelling?
The relationship between how one conducts himself at work and in his personal life is not as distinct and seperate as our simplistic mind would like us to believe.
Bill Clinton took the bitter pill and admitted to his mistake, would Mr Chia do the same?
The evidence would reveal itself in time.

in my opinion, you're being to microscopic.
those politicians have to come clean because they were exposed. their political career will be destroyed if they do not admit their honest mistake.
some men are just jealous that others are able to satisfy two women while they can't even satisfy one!
hopefully his wife is not a living widow.
Lust and avarice are entirely two different kinds of vice.
Avarice is much more serious. There's no justice in a society where greed prevails.
