Typical Singaporean idiots, believing that everybody in need of help is automatically unworthy. Perhaps the government jails citizens for putting themselves in others' shoes.

If every government has the excessive resources to want to do that, then there's no need to discuss social welfare or public empathy further. Putting oneself in others' shoes is different from being taken as idiots.

Wht will happen with more welfare is that taxes will rise and Singapore will become non-competitive. More welfare will only result in a less self-reliant society. It is ironical that losers in this forum complain about excessive government interference but are the first to go crying to the government for more welfare. This is a spineless generation. Stand on your own feet, kiddie!

Well, apparently the rulers want a population that takes care of itself and yet gives the rulers whatever they ask for and tolerate their antics with no complaint. Having and eating cake, anyone?
