  This year, during the first day of our CNY, i went orchard road. Its dark like hell. I was really surprised. Did anyone noticed that they didnt light up orchard at all for chinese new year??? Yet they over light the entire damn place for christmas. I didnt know we're becoming more and more ang mohs... Wrote a mail to STB/ HBD they escaped the question and just pointed out 'o we got chingay got chinatown lightings etc.'

   

  really sad... i hope all the sg people can voice this out by giving your feedbacks at their website regarding about this issue. i honestly, seriously dont think its right to ignore such an important festival.

  entire orchard till city hall no lighting. no one seems to have noticed, either they wanna cut cost or they overspent for christmas.

   

  they try to divert attention on this issue by emphasising on the chingay at marina bay and mentioned chinatown has lighting...

  (the fact is, every year we have chingay and every year chinatown is lighted up!) 

   

  really dark orchard... was there 12.30am for midnight show...  pitch black.

  orchard is definitely not a place chinese will go to during CNY for a family outing.

  either occupied with 拜年, or gambling at home, even if �花�, its chinatown or river angbao which they will turn to. not orchard.

  The shopping centres are so broke this year that they didn't even bother recycling the Xmas decorations for Chinese New Year?

  Yea rite and so decorating it during CNY will probably make us more and more cheena i guess...anyway aint that wat's happenin 2 our country wif all the PRC monkeys comin' in?

  Wat bout other major festivals? Unimportant la...swept under the carpet...

  u no watch tv?
  in many angmoh countries, they hab more CNY spirit than in singapore. lol
  i watched a bit of CNY celebration in mexico. got dragon dance, martial arts etc. and no it's not all by PRC immigrants or chinese. a lot of those performing is local mexicans oso leh. the xdds n xmms who take part in the martial arts...some of them bery cute...

  and im sure there is more to CNY than just lites.....
