Can you survive in SG with learning disability>?

Now I know why I keep failing tests in my life because I 've got a learning disabilty....not that I did not try to memorise and understand the materials , it;s just that the output process is poor..does that mean people with learning disability is doomed to a failed life here:(

... I think Learning Disability is not so bad.. there will still be a way if you have just one passion in something you like to do...
... but what's more deadly is Earning Disablity... which is becoming a disease here with inflation a part of life in Singapore...

The point is that many schools here seems to brush off that the students who failed in tests are stupid or not hardworking enough failing to address the root cause of their failures....in the end the students realised no matter how hard he tried, it's useless and give up on life and learning.... Why must our education system here deprive those that have learning disability ? Why must everything be measured in grades and not other intangibles like good character, honesty and other etc??

... Learning Disability is a label created by the system here...as such, only you & your faith in yourself will see you through life ANYWHERE...
.. I dropped out after Pri 6, I now run my own business & am reasonably well enough to get the hell out of here...along with my business... heheheheee...
... survive outside of the stupid system, or die in it...

Wow...just PSLE..did you continue your education after that? Do you pressure your kids to be straight A's students like many SG parents do?

... I have no kids, & don't intend to have any here in SG...... and yes, I educated myself at my own pace after leaving school...
... and I will NEVER pressure my kids (when I have any) into doing things they DO NOT have any INCLINATIONS towards...
.. most people here who drive their kids up the wall & off HDB buildings because they follow the system too much...
.... but by saying all this, I am not encouraging you that you or anyone should just drop studies - each one of us, have our strengths - FInd it, Use it, and Survive...

The point is that the education system is tied up with the employment market...if you do not have that piece of paper, you are not going to be gainfully employed. How many people with learning disabilty are born in rich families?

... to hell with the education system... Qualify yourself as you go on in life...... the main ingredients is Passion & Self-Motivation.. a lot of educated & paper qualified people here in the market can't really swim... in my opinion, I am more interested in people with the ability to do things, motivation, & vision - not the paper qualifications... of course if you aim to become a doctor or anything like that, you can't do without the paper quaifications...

It's true I would not trust my life with a doctor who's a school dropout or a judge who cannnot speak or write good english...so medicne and law should always have good graduates:)

it depends .... if you're an elite, and rich, or your surname's lee .... you can get your kid to study in the Singapore American school and what not .....
peasant kids have to suck thumb of course .... since 1. Singaporeans are not allowed to study in these foreign schools ... 2. they won't be able to afford the school fees anyways ....
but it depends on what kind of disability lah ... I have mild ADD as well .... you just get whacked for not paying attention more often than other kids that's all .....
