Tourist counts the hours
>I AM an aviation enthusiast and a first-time visitor to an airshow in Singapore. My journey from the hotel via MRT to Changi Expo station was uneventful. However, from there onwards the experience turned disastrously wrong.
Forty-five minutes waiting for an SBS bus which once boarded was filled to over-capacity, 50 minutes stuck in traffic and another 45 minutes to proceed through security. Leaving was even worse - it took three hours to get back to my hotel.

Singapore public transport service just sucks when compared to bus service in Germany. Not that it is very very much cheaper than public transport in Germany when we consider it as a percentage of salary earned.
And when the public transport system is so lousy, the following still happens:
1) raise fares. Reason given is to improve service, of which hasn't even seen much improvements over the last few hikes
2) increasing COEs, raising ERPs. They want to make private transport more expensive when the public transport cannot accodomate enough people during the very peak hours? Maybe they want private transport one day to be most accessible only to those who earn more than a million a year?
