I think $$$ cannot buy a place in Heaven or whatever is defined as heaven.
Anyway, all leaders define corruption or if not incorruptability as a guise for the $$ they can collect with a good cause.
i don't understand the delay in issuing rewards? this entire event is just strange.

This whole event is indeed strange. I never believe the government is so careless to let Selamat used the visitors' toilet. Wayang drama.
if the government is hiding soemthing, then they must be laughing real hard about the 2 individuals who offer the 1m reward.

Well its not our fault they are offering the reward.
... so bloody thick skinned, as a government they wait for public members to put up such a reward amount... I just hope these two businessmen who footed the money had the right mind to stipulate that the amount only applies to public members who helped nab Selamat... not the Police or any other 'World Class' agencies..!!
... amazing; Thin Skinned & Thick Skinned at the same time!

... that 'Hidden Something' like I've said before, is that the poor chap probably died much earlier from a variety of causes we can only assume, under custody...
next time if someone in the Lee family gone missing, i see if they will offer a reward for and lead or not. or wait for members of the public to come up with a reward?
the various questions
why would govt not directly involved in the reward?
Is it a legitmate question of wether there was a case to held him ?
Does it means that interest group could now come in and fund program?
read the paper today? it says that if ever mas was caught, it's the MHA work not the bounty ![]()

read: any fark ups, not my fault .... but any credit goes to me ..... ![]()
Altho 1 mill can be a lot,
what if terrorists issue an ultimatum to the inner circle that whoever leaks, who family kaboom?
will 1 mill be enough to get them to leak?
Hambali got much more.
I think the bounty can be higher.
The secret identity businessmen can donate more or not?
How about 3.3 million?

cant blame them. this is the society we are brought up in. in army, a lot of officers are also like that one. anything wrong is the man fault. then still ask the man to do everything for them. if the man did a good job, it is always the officer that get the credit.
its likely that mas selamat is already 6 ft under, so no matter how much $$ reward, he cant be found, maybe someone should offer a reward for the truth of what happen.
chey.. after so long den offer reward.. kns..

No matter how much bounty is offered,
I still believe that the enforcers and intelligence people should prove that they can find out where he is hiding with their effort and not so much RELY on those tempted by the money to help them catch the toilet breaker.
Having said this, I would like to believe they can find him even without those tempted by the bounty. The nation's security could depend on their ability.
A very strange donation of $1.0 miion bounty by two Singapore businessmen. These donation cannot be to Singaporeans or Mas Selamat's betrayer.
The donors might be someones extremely grateful to whoever they did this for for some good turn we don't know. There is no free lunch.
Bounty or no bounty, the Al Qaeda related JI terrorist leader (so he is one of the several leaders) is about to clock his 5th straight, consecutive month of escape from the high-security detention center of singapore in about 2 to 3 days (depending on your time-zone).
Sad but true.

He is not even the JI leader and now he is Al Qaeda boss? Dont promote him lah.

Appologies for the not making it clearer. Have edited that posting.
What I meant was, there are several leaders in JI and Selamat is one of them. JI is also related to Al Qaeda where also several leaders exist. I used the word 'leader' to mean one of the leaders. Someone who is one of the many leaders can also be called a leader right?
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out.
tchuss!!

What I meant was, there are several leaders in JI (the group) and Selamat is said to be one of them. JI is also related to Al Qaeda where also several leaders exist. He is allegedly the head of a branch of JI's militant group. I used the word 'leader' to mean one of the leaders. Someone who is one of the many leaders can also be called a leader right?
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out.

i don't know if I would classified that as efficiency rather than clumsy.
It properly shows 2 things.
If there is a conspiracy behind than it was not a well thought out exit plan. (they should hire the Major from Columbia military to thought out the exit plan)
if it is just a screw up than the middle group does not want to held accountable and the top does not want to be held responsible so if it was gov that issue the reward than Govt admit to responsibilities of the escape. SG citizen will ask who is held accountable in the govt since taxpayer monies are being used.
i sense there is really no real leadership in this case.
