Singapore Wages: Who Holds the Shorter End of the Stick???

  This is a survey conducted by our renowned MOM (Ministry of Manpower) in 2006 about the wages of certain occupational groups. This survey though conducted in 2006 is nevertheless relevant because there are no other current surveys.

  **Gross Wages includes overtime, commissions and allowances.

  ***I think that Gross Wages would be before CPF deduction, because I looked up on a particular wage group and the figures show the wage to be before CPF deduction.

  Median doesn't say much..theres is a wider range for the top earners...but for the bottom, the median would probably be the mean as well.

  it is time to implement min wages!

  i cant stand to see how folks can earn $4/hr for 60-70 years old people.

  my personal the very the personal opine as follows.

   

  1st worlds like europe and america

  pay their citi of the zen many many more than asia and non-1st worlds.

   

  somehow, i think sg is pro-business. 

  and many people are earning directorships by virtue of being given such posts many many or several.

  so, these people are kind of shareholders of companies and their mentality is that of bosses and business owners. cut costs. max the profit margin.

   

  so what do you think will happen.
