The search at the Bukit Brown area should have been the first thought, as desparate man that managed to breakout of the ISD Whitley Detention Centre would not have created a big stir by limping across an 8 lane PIE at 4.05 p.m. - when the evening rush hour traffic was slowly building up.
Even up till Thursday morning - more then 12 hours later - the area of search was limited to an area south of the PIE in the area around Chancery Lane, and no attention seems to be given to the area north of the Detention Centre - towards the MacRitchie area.
There are many trails and track within the MacRitchie-Seletar catchment area, and the SAF should be used now to sweep through this area, and lay ambush along all known trails and tracks.
The coastal area - especially along the swamp area of Kranji-Lim Chu Kang, Sembawang-Punggol, and quiet beach fronts along the Changi reclaimed area, East Coast and West Coast Park should now be patrolled more frequently.
The Marine Police or Coast Guard and the Singapore Navy will be the last line of the cordon, if this bird can penetrate this last cordon, then he is home free.
He will now need to move through heavily populated areas, and will do so under heavy disguise during the day - may even cross-dress, or move under cover of darkness.
For Total Defense to truly work, every Singaporean will have to memorise this face and imagine a female wig and dress over a heavy male.body.
The initial failure of applying the Total Defense concept by this Government showed that it is used as a political tool to galvanise common people together to serve a political end.
Let Singaporeans show the Ruling Party what Total Defense truly is.
