If Dr M had appointed Najib as PM, he would probably be thinking privately if he should have picked Abdullah. Its hindsight thinking.

He did not did not make the wrong choice - of picking good people . ... just that he refuse to give up his power - thus ending screwing both of them !!!
He make the right choice twice on choosing capable men - but only make the twice the mistake of screwing them....
Anyway his first choice did sort of come back and win the election this time !!! .... although for the opposition side .... -
well, maybe tis time round, the chinese and the indian population will have a fairer say in the politics and policies..

I think before Anwar can become the next PM, Mahathir better flee to singapore for protection.

Where is your cut and paste? Mukhriz and Mokhzani Mahathir are both holding positions in UMNO. Mahathir different from LKY, he is the longest staying head of state, just like Suharto, and he held political power to let his children make the money. LKY didn't pick LHL for succession, GCT did. Mahathir finds trouble with Abdullah, LKY had no problem with GCT.
Mukhriz and Mokhzani have to call Najib uncle. In Malaysia politic, both mahathirs have to wait long long, if it ever come.

At least from his comments you can tell that he has disagreements with his successors, which means that they are not Yes men or puppet PMs. Unlike some country, after 2 PMs already and 4 presidents but we know who is actually still in charge... sigh

Lee Hsien Loong is mid-fifties already. He joined politics so many years ago.. was it 1984? More than 20 years as Minister and DPM before becoming PM.

For decadeds the Indians and Chinese chaff under Dr M. They would only mummur. And Dr M would shut them up.
Abdullah allowed them to express themselves, and express themselves they did.
I hope Malaysians realise that they are protesting against a system that is continuing from the past, and not against Abdullah.

Dr. Mahathir stupid lah, he should clear out all the dissensions in the rank like "ours truly", clean them all up with ISA.Then replace all his UMNO party with his family members and relatives.
But then to prevent media backlash, he should also gain control of all the news medium, so he can feed the population
with lies about his opposition members.
Making his sons the successor does not mean just putting him in UMNO.
You need to wield considerable influence to affect the party.
How else can you do it, except to replace all the members in UMNO with
family members beholden to your wishes.
