how about this idea, starting education hub offshore..;ike in Sentosa or nearby islands?
i think u r not a very smart person
later our uni no more value liao la....
ya... having a uni next to the casino... that is very wise...![]()
it will offer more jobs...too..think about it...
opening up an island AS AN EDUCATION HUB PROVIDE INTEGRATION OPPOTUNITITES .
Recreation shops and other amenities can be included as well
Instead of building homes at Sentosa...An education Institution will bring revenue and credibility to Singapore
The closure of UNSW Singapore should not be a discouragement. At least its asafe Investment which canprovide extra places to local students if enrolment is not up to the mark.. think about it..
U build homes on Sentosa there is a good chance that sales will be poor and it only generates revenue once

A casino makes way more money than a university in Sentosa.
24 hours.
7 days a week.
How can a uni beat that? ![]()
We dont have anymore spare islands..
We DO actually have one very big education hub on one of our islands... Tekong. Learn all sorts of stuff there.

more money yes, at the expense of our own citizens, but is that all that matters, money?
Imagine ten years from now a university or a casino build at marina bay, you imagine the 2 different scenarios what will Singapore be like? if sing became an education hub, or gambling hub. which place you prefer your child to live in?
I dunno abt the policies maker, but it strikes me as what they are doing with the casinos is very near sighted. Opening more universities may be more profitable in the long run, who knows we may have a nobel laureat. Yeah but come to think of it, its kinda hard too, with discouragement of freedom of thoughts in singapore, i doubt we might have a nobel laureat anytime soon....

this doesnt affect money minded Foreign students. They just come to get a cert to go to greener pastures...But a educational hub can be started at tekong itself , think abt it..it will offer a safe haven for international students..
i kinda agree the casino thing is risky and only time will tell if it will be a success...At least a few Unis built can cater to local students if enrolment numbers dont meet up. I am sure there a hundred of singapreans wanting to study a a degree....
he govt has to be more creative in generating revenue, there are a dozen casinos and integrated resorts worldwide and the gambling market globally is a huge and long standing one...and entering the fray for a newcomer like singapore, only time will tell
Casinos are are a businnes. U only earn money when people pattonise yr business and u make a profit, and u got to giv part of yr profit back to the people ...so what happens if the casino is a failure? are u going to shut it down? U cant after putting in lots of cash

australian unis earn 100 million a year just by International students
Govt is forecasting casino will bring 1 Billion annually, but wait how did this forecast came about?
competition from casinos in Malaysia and Thailand may further dampen interest in Singapore . its a risky venture.
But should a move towards education hub is viable , it shuld pay off..

Don't look at me.
I wasn't the one who wants to make more and more money by introducing a vice to the people.
