seems like utility companies and plants are going to be sold to foreign firms, apparently it's been reported tuas power is going to a chinese company for $2 bil - $3 bil through temasek....guess who's getting a fatter bonus this year.....price aside, is it safe to place an important resource to entities sg does not have control over?....
Once they sell off, the P4P keeps the money in their pocket, while the Chinese company will milk us for all we have.

Maurizio, I believe you have got yourself to blame for all these because you are one of the biggest critics of Temasek making money from local monopolies such as utilities.
Now that the are opening up the market to encourage competition, you are again criticising their move.
What exactly do you want?

Huh?
What's the difference from Temasek overcharging us for utilities and Temasek selling away the public utilities company at the Present Value of their future earnings from over charging us?
Do you know what you are talking about here?
My guess is you don't have any basic education, let alone Economics, Accounting and Finance education.
Opening up utilities market to competition? I thought we only have ONE utilities provider? They compete against themselves huh?
I really don't know what to say about you.
You poke your nose into every discussion without the slightest common knowledge.
I have no doubt you will go on ranting, diverting the topic into other non-relevant topic here also.

This is an open tender and it is up to individual companies to load in the price they think is feasible to acquire Singapore power station.
I am not sure which government in the world be willing to sell their asset below what it is worth.
You might have read alot of news and books, but your argument lack any commercial sense.

Like what eagle and Andrew said, you are are good at putting words in people's mouth.
Perhaps you sidetrack because of your inability to engage your opponents in a productive discussion,
with facts and logic, therefore you sidetrack, distort and blur the issues, so that you can do what you are suppose to do,
support the P4P's side at all cost.
I don't know what you post right now has any relevance to my earlier post.
Try to think harder.

I am looking forward to your statistic to proof your arguement so that we can be sure you are not simply speculating without facts.
And would you be kind enough to explain to us how Singaporeans and Singapore will benefit if Temasek sell below the current market value.

Did I say that?
Which part of my post said that?
Maybe you can highlight to me?
Like I said, you don't have any substance, you can't only divert and distort.

Can you point out to me where did I mention this?
Useless right, no abilities at all, don't know how to debate, so try to divert and distort from topic.
Put words into my mouth.
You need to get a proper education.![]()

I have been observing your posts too and my conclusion is to avoid having any discussion with you.
no offense, just a personal preference.
do you have the name of the chinese company?
How many MW is the plant?
Will they continue to operate in tuas or dismantle the whole plant and ship it out?

I am not offended. In fact, I avoid responding to your posts from the time I confirm something fishy about you.

2670MW is very huge. But US$2.8-3.0 billion is a high premium to pay considering it's a old plant with high O&M. With the same price you can build a brand new plant, european names. The valuation must be derived from DCF rather than from book with lots of added premium and good-will.
But why is Singapore liberalizing its power utility to a foreign company. Power utility is the life blood of the country and now they are letting the foreigners control it. It doesn't makes sense. Why don't they start with SBS or MRT or so many business Temasek monopolize.
Something fishy. Got to check out the shareholding structure of HuaNeng. So many Co. Ltd and International as their holdings. I wonder who is above them on and off the book.
If the real motivation is removing monopoly then we should be happy. I just hope it not privatization into their own pockets.

From what I read, they are only selling 3 out of the 4 power plants we have for security reasons. I believe HuaNeng is a state owned company, and knowing China is flooded with cash, I am not surprise they are willing to pay a premium.

not meaning to x-sword with u, but making some `questionable' investments and selling national assets tt is considered premium/sensitive doesn't make great sense to me at all.
