i may just vote the opposition with this aim in mind..
I think its unfair to say that the opposition will be corrupted. I believe at most that they will fail to deliver or find that they can do no better than the present ruling party. I may be wrong though.
Erm.... TS,
when it comes to the TRUTH,
there are 2 sides of a coin to consider.
Which Truth are you expecting?
I am as neutral as the press.

Why that old man abolished the former Nanyang U? Because he is scare of chinese educated people. Now he wants us to learn mandarin bcos China is strong now
we citizens have no say, we are always being manipulated by the pap government. They implement rules , we are like guinea pigs, bcos they have 2/3 majority

then again, the decison ultima lies in the hands of the people.
good or bad is determined ultimately by the people.
The GRC severely limits the people's ability to decide. As I've said before, I don't mind if the GRC system is like what they say - for a fair racial proportion.
But if that is just a mask, it's unacceptable.

Guess who're the Singaporeans who fail to understand?
Hint: They tried comparing their renumeration with certain high earners in a pathetic attempt to justify their raises.
So far only one person has come out and say that he is happy under the rule of PAP regime.
What happened to the followers of PAP?
This is revealing indeed of life under the PAP regime.
I will never support the PAP regime.
I know that under its rule, Singaporeans will never be happy.
If I have children in the future, I want them to be happy.
That is why the hegemony of PAP rule in this country must be destroyed.
There is no other way.
Unless you want to live unhappily.

1) Generally happy but do have my grouses.
2) Happy doesn't mean i cannot be better off somewhere else ( not saying I'll be happy with the new utopia scam).

Case Study -
When DPP in Taiwan came to power 8yrs ago... I cheered for then, newly elected President Chen
I saw in him, a charming & Charismatic leader who is out to bring more Democracy to Taiwan. Plus I support his idea to make Taiwan an Independent Country
KMT at that time, was largely thought of as the Old Corrupted Regime that was abusive of their power.
Yet 8yrs later.... we see a 180deg change in voting back the KMT. For all the 'democracy' President Chen had promised..... It still got Taiwan nowhere nearer to be admitted into UN. Because of President Chen's position towards China.... their businessman find it hard to do business in the World's Hotest Market.
But I would be the 1st to admit that one good outcome after the KMT's defeat 8yrs ago..... is that they now knows - the Old Fashion Way of Governing won't work now. Something all of us would agree that PAP better learn quickly or else.
Poh Ah Pak.... I don't agree with your views that the system "Must Be Destory" or a certain person "Must Die"..... But I do believe in your RIGHTS to said it here
. But I wouldn't want to risk 8 or even 4 years of my already limited life, in supporting CJS. For in him.... I see nothing good
. Chaim or Low I would risk..... not ever Chee.

hloc,
i think this so-called true or real opposition of singapore now remain faceless, nameless. for the simple reason that he/she has no place in singapore now, given the iron grip a few individual has on the political system. when LKY eventually pass on and LHL grip on power loosens, that is where i think the so-called uprising will happen. however, i think it will be a peaceful uprising.
Chiam is already in poor health, I think Low is clueless in running beyond a constituency, and i, like you, will not bet on Dr Chee. From the opposition point of view, i think the best is yet to come.
However, the is a real chance that PAP can reinvent itself, post-Lees. If so, there is a real hope for a smooth political evolution in Singapore. Nobody can predict the future, just as what we do not know what post-Lees PAP will become.
If all we talk is about the opposition, we are only seeing one side of the coin.

Unless PAP kena 'burn backside' badly..... don't really have so much faith in any real changes.... of course hope I'm wrong.....
post-lee, change?
you are assuming there will be competition among the ruling party?
hmm....amazing....race.
there are quite afew forumers here that can be voted for the happiest singaporean of th year award.
Ok right, at this moment, we did not see any opposition trying to expand their base to other constituency. Chiam and Low only restrict their activity in their own area. There is no national opposition icon to rely on. Pap will humiliate these opposition during GE and character assasination

Well said. We are not talking about happiness in general, it is politics by PAP in Singapore.

Have, you have a say, do it on election day.
The only people happy under the evil PAP rule are the sickos lee kuan, hopeless son lhl, all pap members and their lackeys/running dogs and their families.
lee kuan yew, lhl and all PAP are nothing without the people of singapore, so they better learn to thank and appreciate the people of singapore.
