GRC sure will prevent again many potential leaders to stand for
election as they may not be able to put together the heavy election
deposits or get a few ethnic candidates of other races to stand with
them against the ministers' GRC who have all the advantages of
incumbent plus having 5 years of free posters advertisements displayed
all over their constituencies against the new candidates who could only
display their posters for about a week to two weeks before election.
The threat to sue any candidates who dare to speak critically about
losses in Shin Corp or cronyism will still deter many potential
candidates from speaking up on the truths in wrong doings.
So it is predictable for PAP to win another election by default once
again notwithstanding the profiteering and GST increases without necessity and misuse of people's monies to bribe the electorate with election goodies and newspapers painting all the elites' false success
stories while covering up escape stories about Mas Selamat.
The question we should ask ourselves is: is this kind of election real
or what we the people want and will we still be happy or are we
resigned or fated to accept it because there is no choice.
Will you consider such election success a success?
I really despise the GRC system.
It should be abolished.
It allows people with no political experience to be MPs with ease.
