I think the China version is more accurate than the western version lor. The western press had not had any access to Tibet for the following 2 weeks after the incident, and everything is base on hearsay and conjecture by anti-china "experts". As for China, why do i think its true? cos it is not a joke to burn people alive, or to hack toddlers with machetes. These claims are supported by photos, of damages and injuries.
and as for Dalai, i think he is seriously out of touch with his people, after living in exile for more than 50 years. would you want someone who had live oversea for over 50 yrs, more than ur entire life, to suddenly come back and rule like a king?
the point isn't about Western bias or China being historical accurate or politically who owns Tibet.
People...understand what is at stake here --- We are loosing Humanity. We are loosing the unique feature of a Buddhist Tibet form of teaching. That are center in peaceful observation and translated the message of peace thru Medala art form to connect to the collective humanities. This is a priceless loss to the world.
Tibet and its believe is their way of life and culture. It is inseparable to tell those folks what not to practice is to ask them not to be Tibetan
Report on the Rejection of forceful Patriotic education came out as early as 2005.
To inject Communist version of Patriotic education on Tibetan monk is no different than sonar distracting Whales and mislead them onto the shore on mass suicidal.
It is as good as the action of Taliban to blow up the Buddhist rock sculptured in Afghanistan. A path lead to destruction.
Loosing humanity in your face and fail to realizes that means you loose your own moral compass in the long run. Think about it. At least the outsider happened to be the West can see clearer picture.
What to do? I see all the Catholics and Christians now diam diam, never protest about freedom of religion, except when it comes to their own. Thats why USA will never help Tibet...
Fuck communism!
USA never said anything because Bush needs to borrow money from China to finance the war in Mid east.
But for people in this forum like ah pak. its totally out of it.
They don't believe the news published by Singapore government yet they believe whatever China government's propaganda tells them - both are propaganda!!!
Who said that I believe in PRC propaganda?
I follow facts and evidence, not propaganda.
I post PRC propaganda doesn't mean I trust PRC propaganda.
China ruled by a Government who are Impieral Pigs like their American "counterparts" I wish the worst of both Nations, both Evil, both Stupid. Although Singapore sin't perfect better to live here than in those hell holes (not much of USA). Look at China's economic explosion, nothing made there but overtaxing the people and pouring the money into building of new human labour houses, with poor pay for hard work. Bastards!
Look at China's increasing income gap and rapid growing corruption, says alot about why Macau is doing so well. ![]()
Fellow Singaporeans who support China's stance on Taiwan and Tibet should deserve to go down to hell with those stupid Communists and ... well Imperialists!
Since you hate USA and PRC, I suggest use Taiwan as a pretext and instigate a USA-PRC war, let the two finish each other off.
its been awhile since someone said that chinese were communist AND imperialist. what china's stance on tibet and taiwan? do i really have to inform you your pathetic judgement is neither needed nor will make any difference? China's stance is the world's stance save for stupid eastern european countries egar to whore themselves out to the EU.
I think Beijing should treat Tibet better and perhaps give them more autonomy. But I absolutely don't support the Dalai Lama. Why? Under the rule of Dalai lama, Tibetans were not treated as proper human beings. In my opinion he's worse than the communists. Read here:

I cannot understand why western media portrayed Tibet as a Shangri La before the Communist takeover when it is so obviously not the case.

We must be on the alert against distortion and false propaganda.
We must examine the facts and beware of hidden agendas.
Why some U.S. media going to such extreme?
We must be on the alert against distortion and false propaganda.

Ah Pak Ah Pak Yes we Must always be alert against distortion and false propaganda but how do you determine when there is a Institution focus on Propaganda.

Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (Simplified Chinese:ä¸å…±ä¸å¤®å®£ä¼ 部) is an internal division of the Communist Party of China, and therefore is not formally considered to be part of the Government of the People's Republic of China. Nevertheless, it is the de facto highest office to enforce media censorship and control in China, as well as in charge of the propaganda in the People's Republic of China, even though no state law explicitly gives it such authority.
Its scope is to give instructions to the media on what is and what is not to be said about certain "delicate" issues, like Taiwan, Tibet, etc., that can affect state security, or the rule of the Communist Party.
These guidelines are not known to the public, but are communicated to media workers via secret bulletins. Such directives are considered imperative, and are enforced by disciplines within the Party, as all media in China are required to be loyal to the Party, and are to serve as propaganda organs for the Party in principle. Operational and reporting freedom has significantly increased in the Chinese media in the recent decade. However, open defiance against the Central Propaganda Department directives is rare, as dissenting media organizations or journalists risk severe punishment, including restructuring, closure and/or dismissal from post.
It's not unusual that Chinese journalists disclosing the secret Propaganda Department directives to foreign media be charged with the very grave accusation of divulging state secrets.
On a independent article it show that Propaganda department exist.
Central control
In public and private meetings with senior media personnel the past few years, relatively liberal cadres such as party General Secretary Hu Jintao and Premier Zhu Rongji have played up journalists' responsibility in exposing the "dark side of society," particularly corruption among officials.
A Beijing-based editor familiar with the party's propaganda policy said central control over the media would continue to be tight for the foreseeable future.
"The Propaganda Department has maintained a blacklist of free-thinking intellectuals whose articles and books cannot be published," he said.
Since last winter, several college students have been penalized for circulating articles on the Internet that advocate a faster pace of political reform.

of course not, coming from SG we all know Propaganda exist thru media but do we know who is talking in this forum these days?
Since some people here feel that letting Tibet go back to Dalai Lama rule will be bad for the Tibetans, why not let them go back to their first government system, Monarchy? A king not a dalai lama (the title is given by the Yuan Dynasty anyway)
Err...and how exactly are you supposed put as the king of the country?
ur know abou/t shit!
