With the newly built Terminal 3 having just opened it's doors to
tourists and visitors in January this year , the government recently
announced that they are going to build another Terminal - making it
four Terminals in our Changi Airport !
Do
u think the building of another Terminal is necessary at all ,
considering that Terminal 3 has only been up and running not too long
ago only . Or do u think it is really necessary with Singapore expected
to take in more tourists and as well as additional visitors with us
hosting the Youth Olympics in 2010 ?
The 4th Terminal is expected to be ready in mid to late 2009 .

It really depends what you view as necessity.
If we dont mind Changi airport to be as congested as London Heathrow, i think T3 should be enough.
How if we want Changi Airport to remain as one the most efficient airport for both passengers and transit airlines, then we will have to consider T4 because when the IRs, F1 and YOG are all running on full cylnders, changi airport will be very congested.
And it will be a disaster for Singapore and SIA, if airlines decide to use KLIA or Bangkok instead of Singapore as their transit hub.
