Well it is confirmed that I will be moving over in a few mths. So now I need to ask you folks who moved over for your experiences and tips which are very much appreciated.

So u going to bring your notebook/PC there or go there and buy new one, cos I cant decide is it cheaper to buy here or there...
im residing at westlake, south west of brisbane.
i bought my dell inspirion laptop here for A$900+, 2gb ram, dual processor, 3 years warranty.
now im trying to bring my brother-in-laws here, back in SG, they are exploited like hell by their SME employers.
I was thinking of building my own desktop in SG then bring it over but just tot it will be waste of warranty....

This is not new. A couple of foreigners I know of told me they were offered PR applications not long after they arrived in singapore.

i also heard a rumor from my colleague who was from india and got pr and then was offered citizenship. So , he took it. he is now thinking of quiting the inc once he is about to retire.
he wants to go home. when his son turned 18 he gave up his pr and returned home to 'study'.
his wife also now in india.
he owns a flat here.
he is selling for some reason.
FT->PR->citizen->withdraw cpf ?

one has to prepare with some lead time.
withdrawing cpf is not instant thing.
1. work overseas, apply pr there.
2. after a couple of years stay there, apply citizen.
3. once gotten then only can start withdraw.
I not sure if above sequence is correct?
I need to be cork sure.

I think he probably knew the reason local wanting to migrate to other countries. Look at the channel u n there is a show about
Belinda Lee going around to other countries to look for locals on other countries. This morning, the paper mentioned PM Lee said it is important to get local in other countries to come back here.
I think PAP regime needs to do more propaganda work to encourage Singaporeans living overseas from coming back to Singapore.
They need to step up their activities and propaganda.
This type of work will be futile to fishbuff I think.

I think to get foreign professional to come n make this country their home is quite difficult. The govt never told us how many
foreigners left to go back to their original countries after staying here.

mm lee said that there is a net gain and they are happy with that..

If there is a gain, how come the PM sound worried about it?
PM Lee mentioned that 100 locals went to other countries to
study n only half of them came back to here to work while the rest of them stayed back in their host countries. Spore is facing a lot of brain drain problem n for those people came to Spore on work permit or student pass, they will be offered PR.

i am also expecting some news or program to documentarise the successful examples of locals settling overseas. there are so many cases. bound to have plenty of ex-poreans being happier man and woman living in a place with higher Quality of Life which cannot directly be bought by material wealth or money. if a rich man is rich due to working in a very stressful business, and he is always worrying and hot temper or taking feel good medications, his quality of life is worse than a poor man who is content.
australia is much more multi racial than singaopore. talking bout language, singapore has lots of chinaman migrants who cant speak english....dont u think spore shudmake it compulsory for PR to be able to speak english b4 giving them the visa. otheerwise judging from the amount of migrants from china coming here, singapore would be another china
