it's elementary.
he admitted that the two words in question are "two different words and complement each other all the time" (something he googled obviously) but yet his original sentence implicated him as his word usage negates the two complementary words in question. my england is not powderful but i can sensed that the usage is incorrect. i pointed it out to him in good faith but of course, being the man that he is, he came down like a ton of bricks and now try to wriggle it out;even with some help from some white knight.

Your usage of "the above" without stating a noun after that could easily mean that you were referring to the whole paragraph of explanations by you simply because you highlighted the whole paragraph in italics.
Thus, my answer that you do not make sense to me. Please explain to me how this can be considered evasive.
