For a while, I was puzzled by your attraction towards such activities and expressions, and wondered if your boredom had led you into a different world.

Actually, when dealing with young kids with problematic infantile behaviour -(that is largely caused by boredom)- it is best not to be too ambitious with choice of complex words - as the mental capacity of such a problematic kid is already quite limited.

Singapore has been responsible in managing the lighthouse theres since more den 3 decades ago. So far there has not been ani mishap.

On Wednesday (25 December), the Malaysian PM was exasperated when he resorted to wild rhetoric by stating that Malaysia has no further route of advancement on this “Preda Branca or Pulau Batu Putih” issue, and “short of going to war” Malaysia can only submit further protest note.
This irresponsible statement from a supposedly responsible leader of a population of 20 million is shocking, and it is with little wonder that by Thursday (26 December) he has now to back track on his earlier statement.
He must now calm his own people down to prevent any unilateral actions taken by some over enthusiastic Malaysian individuals - who already have demanded sending the Malaysian Navy and Armed Forces to send ships and personnel to occupy the island.
Based on the judgment of the ICJ in favor of Malaysia - in their Pulau Sipadan and Pulau Litigan dispute with Indonesia – the ICJ had stated that they have only considered the merit of effective administrative control of disputed islands over a historical period, and did not consider historical treatise, or geographic continental shelf demarcation.
Perhaps this same condition is already known to the Malaysian that they have no case in their claim against Singapore in this Pulau Batu Putih or Preda Branca issue.
This is probably the reason for their reluctance to conclude the Agreement in 1998 in which both Malaysia and Singapore will agree to bring the matter to the ICJ.
Knowing that they will lose in their claim, the Malaysians prefer to use this issue as fodder to hit at Singapore, and make wild allegations to stir their own domestic politics, so as to put additional pressure onto Singapore to settle the other issues that the Malaysian think will be vital to us – issues such as the Future Water Agreement, Air Space for our Air Force, and continued goodwill from Malaysia.
This is another one of their brainless effort to think that they can beat us to the ground with this “Kampung Style Politics”.
Preda Brenca will be another test for our resolve to withstand the usual Malaysian Politics that play to their own domestic audience, so as to distract them from other upcoming issues that will affect their future. -
I believe all the trouble risen from peace is an attempt for the government to rise anti-singaporean sentiment , nationalism and focusing the people onto UMNO.
In history , malaysia had been using many of these dirty tricks to gain fame , support and nationism. eg , black thursday riot on 21st July 1964 is actually an attempt by the UMNO to gain Singaporean Muslims support by using the media to post false statements. Luckily SIngapore resolve the situation between our two racial groups , and with evidence , Singapore together with the foreign deplomats susgest that the malaysian government were behind all the rioting.
Currently the crisis is largely played by the malaysian media , now gaining great success as a crediable anti-singaporean ans nationism feeling is formed and UMNO will be again be regarded as ''saviour of tanah melayu'' , as the govt now ''promise to solve the problem in behalf of their land''........sian sia. -

One should be loyal to the family, to oneÂ’s friends, and to oneÂ’s country.
The direction of my first posting was that all these talks of waging war with Malaysia at this stage will only mirror ourselves as unsophisticated and unthinking rabbles, who are no better then those crude goateed people hollering outside our Singapore embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
I have quoted the innocence of two young children, who are born out of the wedlock of parents from two different countries; and who without any training in diplomacy, these two children made an innocent statement of honesty.
Loyalty towards nations is a political development of oneÂ’s attitude as one become politicize over the years as we grow old.
Malaysia and Singapore, and the rest of the member states of ASEAN, could easily become like the different states of the European Community; if we learn to be humans and drop the barriers of POLITICAL BORDERS, and amalgamate our countries into one common community.
One day, like the honest comments of these two children, we can openly say that we are a Thai, Malay, an Indian, Vietnamese, Sumatran, Javanese, Achenese, Chinese, Filipino – all these names of our birth origin as a source of identity, without the need of feeling politically racist or nationalistic.
War between Singapore and Malaysia will be disastrous for both countries, and also for this whole ASEAN region.
We should be better than those hot headed guys with goatees that are only good at waving placards and shouting slogans and making wild rhetoric in public places.
Let us not show our cards too early, but play it cool.
Towards this end, I respect our Ministers for their levelheaded responses in the Press and in Public, when questions are raised as to our response to the MalaysianÂ’s wild behaviour and provacative rhetoric. -
