"under the international law... occupation even if by force of arms or conquest is an acceptable form of ownership of a territory..even if malaysia do originally own the island."
Really. If Singapore invades Johor, USA, Australia or even China no objections right?

Like Singapore no honour even after import FT athletes still cannot capture high ranking tournaments in badminton and table tennis. Unlike Malaysian LOCAL born squash queen WORLD no 1 (2006-2007, 2007-current) Nicol David and badminton queen Wong Mei Chew who beat ALL OF THE CHINA's A TEAM IN CHINA 2007. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wong_Mew_Choo).
wat FT? your father mother also from another land... even if they are not.. one of your ancestors are... so wat makes you more singaporean then them?
why dont you go over and join malaysia... then when their locals won... you can wave your malaysian flag too...
Ok not FT still loser.

didnt you know that australia, USA were conquered territory?
even china was built through war and conquest... since the shang dynasty when it was the size of johor.

So... Pple who care about the sovereignty and honour of the nation, the defence of the nation's border integrity, who basically love the country of their birth are, basically, in your words, "frogs in well" ???
So what makes u so enlightened? U and your cynicism, only caring about the price of rice, paying your bills and the china whores that makes u feel alive?
Who's the frog here? excuse me for saying "uncle", but its ok if u're apathetic... there are some of us who cares.
So if Singapore loses the rock/s, you propose invading Malaysia right? I am giving this non-issue the attention it deserves.
Excuse me, it was PAP minister that bring up China beer girls ok...
Relax no one will call for Walter Woon or Jaya's head to roll if they lose the rock. If you feel alive only if Singapore retains the rock, well good for you loh...
"Pple who care about the sovereignty and honour of the nation,"
Wheres your indigination when PAP busses in loser FT athletes and more important issues like losing a terrorist in custody etc.?

Agree that it should not be blown out of proportion but while u feel that it is a "non-issue", i view it as current affairs which i've been monitoring for years.
I am alive and I feel alive regardless of the rock. But I am interested in the outcome nevertheless. Is this interest so inconceivable to you? Does it seem more reasonable that EPL fans should lose sleep and wear their team colours and harangue fans of opposing teams of their misplaced loyalty?
Why am I not as upset with loser FT atheletes? The simple answer is that I'm simply not a sports fan. I also do not believe that winning or losing in a sports game makes a country better.
While losing a piece of rock in a strategic location where we have placed important navigation and communication equipment and which control gives us a strong advantage in the extent of our territorial waters and enables us to protect the sea-trade that is so important to us... Hmmm... Not important?

for god sake... dont try to pass yourself off as a singaporean...
in fact.. dont even try to pass yourself off as a living being...
all living organisms guard jeolously wat they deemed belongs to them... even an amoeba would compete to survive... only dead corpse would not protest when its being robbed.
"all living organisms guard jeolously wat they deemed belongs to them... even an amoeba would compete to survive... only dead corpse would not protest when its being robbed."
I will try remember that during LKY's funeral. Please dont pass yourself as anything but a coward like your WWII Jap collaborator boss.

? u have a morbid obssession with his mortality then...
We'll all die... sooner or later. In any case, pple die every day so why should one death arouse your interest more so than any others?
Some may mourn his passing more than others but a country is bigger than 1 man.
Tsk tsk... so you bemoan the loss of sports matches and celebrate the death of certain individuals, but do not care one way or another about the territorial integrity of Singapore... Hmmm...

I dont care about the rock. You still havent answered my question, what if Singapore loses the rock? Would you protest at Malaysian Embassy or ask for Walter Woon or Jaya to resign. Just wait and cross your fingers until May 23rd.
"Some may mourn his passing more than others but a country is bigger than 1 man."
Some people may disagree with you.
"Tsk tsk... so you bemoan the loss of sports matches "
To people like you, a country's honour is not linked to its athletes so please ask the Ministry of Sports to stop funding athletics altogether.

Rise from grave in his dream?? That man and his family is the lowest person i've ever known.
If he rises from the grave it will be for condemnation.
no wonder they said foruming is shiok.....keyboard typing is sooooooooooooooooooooooo easy....i wait eyes big big and see how patriotic we are when the D-Day comes
so to those so-called patriots and "frogs in wells", plse dun put our real heroes and heroines to shames for it's their BIG picture and real actions that brought honours to SG...not keyboard typings
and certainly not over a piece of rock...think BIG picture! like what our leaders said! ![]()
Few understand how important Pedra Branca's role has been as far as maritime is concerned.
Look who's the frog in the well.
We've got about 2 and half weeks left to call this rock island Pedra Branca
I think we may lose this rock to up north.
If UK can continue to have legitimacy to the Falkland Islands based on historical records over an uninhabited island, even when it is over the other side of the globe - can Singapore's claim be more uncertain based on near similar parallel scenario ?
Even putting all the efforts of not making jingoistic cock-eyed comparison, one can surely see that the Singapore claim has been well crafted with sound arguments based on historical records - compared to the disparate efforts from the Malaysian side that even included ''amateurishly doctored photos'' - which attracted strong criticism from ordinary Malaysians.
As the clock tick away, both sides should psychologically prepare their own sides for the worst unwanted outcome to their respective positions.

some idiots think that proximity is claim to ownership... for your information.. pedra branca is nearer to indonesia then to malaysia..
and for your information... malaysia only claimed pedra branca in 1979 through publishing their new map and cut into the land and water of 6 neighbours.

the amateruish doctored photo is nothing if you compare to their OFFICIAL DOCTORED MAP! where pedra branca was moved 25 km north and place east of johor rather then in the straits of singapore.
obviously singapore was not impressed and told the 16 judge about it.... and malaysian team didnt even dare to refute it in their last presentation.

at the end of the day, it is the party that has the most military might and will power to use said military might that will win.
UN is oppose to USA's attack on afgan and iraq but USA still go and smack those islamic turban heads around. Any repercussions imposed on the US? sure, there is alot of talk but nothing was done againts USA for its strong arm actions. why is this so? it is because USA can smack anybody around so nothing was done.
I propose that Singapore do the same. beef up its military might to smack ASEAN and take pedra branca by force
