Doesn't apply to 21st century's globalized and interconnected world. I would love to read Jingle's thesis on foreign policy someday...
Hmm.... I suppose I subscribe to "What is not mine, I do not take. What is mine, I defend." Does that count towards foreign policy or just hot air.... Never thought I will make it to become minister, so did not really think about foreign policy

Not that I have been there, but I would assume (from reading) fishing is very possible during high tide. Therefore, our lighthouse keepers should be quite well fed... with fish, at least.
From what I heard, water around the island is very choppy. It is subject to frequent inclement weather... hardly a place where one would consider developing a resort.
By itself, the island has very little to offer to anyone. However, it is in a strategic location mainly for the shipping lanes.
with global warming and melting polar ice cap not sure what will be the impact
as a local..i hope sg will win...but subjected to critisms fr our neighbour ![]()

I wonder if it would be a good place to fish given the current.
