Well since it is not like the Hawaian islands so losing the other two rocks is no sweat..Main thing is the Pedra Branca issue.
The law professor from NUS denied Chole's statement and said that South Ledge is an open question.
Ha..the useless malaysian only got the rocky outcrops...and we can now raise our flag whether they like it anot.
And while we celebrate,i hope someone remember Dr M's need for bananas so that he wont be blabbering about this outcome soon ![]()
I doubt so ... Mind u, these 3 rocks are pretty close either. Its gonna get even more complicated when the EEZ and everything else comes in ...
Yes I think its damn stupid to split the rocks to 2 different ownerships but maybe its only fair to give something rightfully back to the Malaysians.Just hope they dont start to kwailan later.
Man..... ![]()
Why can't the judge just tell the result 1st..... before keep going for 1.5hrs..... ![]()
what kind of fark judgement is this ? .....
this will just cause more problems later won't it ? ....
From today on we can call the rocks Batu Puteh kecil 1 and Batu Puteh Kecil 2

Well..... Malaysia could now join both Middle Rocks & South Ledge togather and built their own lighthouse on it lor.......
Should have built something on those two rocks years ago.........like a canoe center or a fishing kelong>hahaha
Implication of the ICJ Decision
The decision by the ICJ to award Pedra Branca to Singapore but to decide that Middle Rocks belongs to Malaysia is seen as a Pyrrhic victory. This is because the issue now turns to ownership of the surrounding territorial waters which would be hotly contested due to the close locations of both geographical feature.

From ICJ website
The Court finds that Singapore has sovereignty over Pedra Branca/Pulau
Batu Puteh; that Malaysia has sovereignty over Middle Rocks; and that
sovereignty over South Ledge belongs to the State in the territorial
waters of which it is located
What a wierd judgement.
basically, they are saying that here's a piece for you, and here's one for you .... now both of you can fight on over this remaining one .....
This would prevent SIngapore from expanding Pedra Branca and the Malaysians should be happy with the decision.
yeah one more island for us to build another IR!

Ang Mor dont give a damn to us gooks >hahaha They never did.
To me this ruling is nothing short of a slap in the face.
Goh Hui Ling. Seah Ai Leng. Heng Sock Ling. Chua Bee Lin.
Remember these names. They are the four sailors who died in 2003 in the waters of Pedra Branca.
If any Singaporean can say that they died defending the sovereignty of this country, these four women can. These islands are worthless pieces of rock in the ocean, but because they have been sanctified by the blood of Singaporeans, they have worth beyond measure.
And now we hand the South Ledge and Middle Rocks to Malaysia. A country that jeered and scorned these four, whose media treated with contempt, whose deaths their citizens celebrated. We hand back these rocks on a platter for these animals, who have done nothing to earn them. In the end the sacrifice of Singaporean lives has meant nothing. Nothing.
Think about this the next time a Malaysian serves you in a shop or restraunt, and you will throw your kopi into his foul face.
look at who the presiding judge was ....
you think there's a bias ? ....
maybe that's why they threw a piece of bone to the malaysians .... inspite of the overwhelming case ...

The Hague is well known for fellating Malaysia. Look how Sipadan and Ligitan turned out for the Indonesians.

Listened to the CNA live, heard the judge said 12-4 ruling in favour of Pedra Branca to Singapore and 15-1 ruling in favour of Middle Rock to Malaysia. Not sure though. Let's move on!
if only it can be that easy .... this sets the stage for continued disputes ...
this time, over territorial waters ...
