Study Hong Kong - Freedoms fuel fighting spirit for progress

  The 66.6 % who unthinkingly voted without considering deeply the root cause of all their problems like the rising costs of housing or loss of their retirement are the naive people. Good government will not just happen. People need to work for it and be part of it? Hongkongers do not just listen to all the bull about talent and leadership to allow leaders to take their own salaries or throw away monies of the people like in Shin Corp. If they are that naive like we are they one day will produce another autocrat who will do the same - talk one thing and do another to benefit themselves. Look at Anson Chan. She knows freedoms fuel progress and justice and equity and freedoms cannot be traded for non-sense self-praise and self-glory of a few elites just to allow them to control and do what they like for their own hidden agendas. If we are to study HK further even though they do not have big names like LKY their system will simply motivate their people who have the extra sense of survival and spirit of fighting for their personal freedoms without which they can never hope to have good government.

  We cannot compare, it is true for comparisons can only be made apple for apple. Problem is we learn to make comparison from our world-class leaders who will excuse themselves of any problems by telling you to look at Indonesia or Philippines not Hong Kong in reply to people asking for democracy or freedoms that actually are the fuel that provide motivation and progress.

  Add South Korea and Taiwan which are more Sincized wealthy functioning democracies.
