Transparency for CEOs

Hi,
Should companies books be transparent to investors?
If so, I have a concern.
If, as said by some chi chi brombastico, revealing this info can let their competitors know their financial position and give away their business strategy.
So, do you still believe in Transparency and Accountability for CEOs?
Since their business survival is at stake, why should CEOs be transparent ? Why should there be financial reports for the investors? How accurate are these reports?
Can I say a half truth is still the truth to investors? is anyone capable of handling the truth ? is there a need to be transparent if survival is used as reason for no need to be transparent?

I wonder out of the 9 mil collected from the public,
how many dollars actually went on to benefit or save the lives of the destitute in SiChuan?
I not sure does any of you actually know this answer.
TV Charity show :
1. Which organisation receives revenue from this public donation for the destitute?
I confused leh. Is the money meant for the sufferers or is it meant for someone else at the same time? Is there no organization in this world that is profiting from the donations?
2. If there are organisations profiting from it, would they like to encourage more of these TV charities? I no no lor.
3. Can every cent of the donations be passed to the victims and organisations absorb the expenses as their form of donation to the victims? Afterall, one should be able to walk the talk right? Even if not, what is the hum that the exact amount that reach the victims is disclosed as well as the exact amount spent and paid to commercial entities, if any? Is there any thing illegal for doing so? Is there anything to hide about public money derived out of the compassion of sympathisers?
4. TRANSPARENCY : should charities open up their books to public scrutiny? Why not? Why not not ? is it to prevent other charities from knowing their financial positions? Will an organisation that receives public donation no need to disclose entirely what is the credit and debit history of our public money? What if chrarities cite that for their survival reasons and private reasons and confidential reasons, they do not need to disclose for fear that if they do, they might close shop?
Is it becos a charity is not a public company? But receives money purely from the public?

I wonder why companies need to report honestly their financial positions.
anyone got the answer?
some companies may cite the reason that if they report honestly their competitors will anticipate their next move. By this reason, I guess there is no need for sarbanes oxy5 hor?
By this reason, I guess its alright to reveal some but lump up other things and keep it secret?
