Banana Island (Pulau Pisang) Light house.
Next Singapore target?
The island is in Malaysian territory, but under an agreement signed in 1900 with the Sultan of Johor, the Government of the Straits Settlements was granted the right in perpetuity to the plot of land on which the lighthouse stands and to the roadway leading to it, as long as the Straits Settlements operated the lighthouse. Today, that responsibility falls to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. The access of Singaporean workers to the lighthouse has been a subject of contention in recent years.

Johore better jaga the bananas on the island and tag every banana before monkeys from Bukit Timah and MacRichie come and steal the fruit.......
Pulau Pisang rightfully belong to the monkeys up north and Singapore will not dispute that or esle not only Mahathir would go bananas this time
JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA: There is no danger of losing Pulau Pisang to Singapore as Malaysia clearly has sovereignty over the island.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said that this was despite Singapore operating a lighthouse on the 154ha island.
He said the ownership of the island was based on a treaty between Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Abu Bakar and the British in 1900, which clearly stated that Malaysia had sovereignty over the island.
"Our land office records show that Pulau Pisang belongs to Johor," he said.
Abdul Ghani said the lighthouse, which guided ships into the Singapore Straits, was manned by four Singaporean guards.
He added that Malaysians were allowed to enter the island but were prohibited from entering the lighthouse.

Banana Island.....Pulau Pisang.....view from Pontian area.
154 hectares......A hectare is a unit of area equal to 10,000 square metres,
154x10,000 = 1,540,000 sq metres........wah......can feed many monkeys
haha.. seriously..

As usual, the Singapore monkey find ways to screw the Malaysian maiden......
i just don't get it.. why are the malaysians so worried over a small speck of dirt? when they have shits-loads of it? Are they better at developing? we can see clearly no..

I won't be surprised if those people in the Singapore government are laughing their heads off after reading what our legislators are saying. Our legislators and senior politicians cannot even understand that the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) management and control of the Pulau Pisang lighthouse is completely different from that of the ownership of Pulau Batu Puteh.
the malaysian govt have to do such things in order to feed that patriotic spirit and please their people. the political scene there is already so much problems so the govt must do things to stay in power, if not next elections the gone already...
they are acting like we are interested in every single island.
Well it's the usual blame-everyone-but-ourselves mentality.
For some reason they had the clout and guts to take it to the ICJ, but lacked the savvy to finish the issue there and now they're crying foul.
Isn't starting all these pointless threads proving our point, rather then actually having any effect that Idwar intended?
Apparently that fact seems to be lost on him.

Even I as a layman in legal matters and not even in politics went to read up ICJ judgment on Pedra Branca.
From there clearly stated that SG does not claim that piece of Banana.
So when Malaysia politicians started to "safeguard that Pisang", clearly shown us those so called politicians did not even bother to read up the rulings!!! LOL
Either they are English tak tahu or they did not even read up the history of Pulau Pisang before uttering nonsense.
Something similar to the threadstarter!!!LOL
