Exorbitant PUB Bill for month of May...

Have any of you received your PUB bill? Do you notice how much more your bill is?
How did they arrive at these figures they charge us?

Last month they giave us their so called GST Offset package...
This month they take back through high utility charges...
Should have known...

Any reason why you didnt talk about the recent spike in oil price, which have a direct impact of the cost of energy? -
if you don't trust them to do your meter readings then you can actually check it yourself then submit via their webby..

Spike or no spike in oil prices, everyone agrees that Singapore Power has a knack of calculating inflated charges... regardless of usage... -

I believe this have been discussed before. There is a portion which is estimate, which will then be offset or correct on next month's bill -

haha ok so it's more laxed aborad...but mind you, tummy comes only with age...

I have friends who stops using the aircon, eats out all the time, only watches the news on TV in the evening, uses the fan at night, doesn't use the water heater when he showers, and still... he gets about the same charges in his monthly utility bill...
So, what's going on you tell me?

somewhere leaking la.My house duno like very efficient. My house is this category, but utility usage under that of a lower category.

.... and I thought it was just my household........ now started to turn off ALL the unnecessary powerpoints eg DVD, cable box etc.

I posted this on 21 March 2008.
Our electricity rate is grossly overpriced when compared to a comparable country like Australia (in terms of GDP per capita).
Electricity rate is charged in Australia (ActewAGL) at 12.10 cents (Australian Dollars), when converted gives a Singapore Dollar rate of 15.13 cents.
(AUD 1 = SGD 1.25)
Singapore Power charges electricity rates 23.88 cents.
The difference between Singaporean electricity and Australian is 8.75 cents, a pecentage difference of 58% when compared to Australian electricity.
Well I guess so long as Singaporeans are lapping it up, then it's not a big issue.
