WASHINGTON (AP) -- Wall Street bounced higher and lower Wednesday trying to make up its mind about an unprecedented coordinated interest rate cut by central banks around the world. In the end it settled on a familiar feeling -- fear -- and plunged againWhen I said "Looks like it is getting serious again...." .......

and during this recession, the top 8 earners experience a drop in annual income
will the ministerial pay be adjusted accordingly downwards?

Based on what is happening at the moment, and because the situation and circumstances change constanly, what is true for today might not be true for tommorrow... my guess, all things being equal, is that it will be worse than the Asian Financial crisis and I think at that time, the STI dropped to 800 from a peak of around 2500.... this guess is good till cancelled... and what's the hurry to get in?
People and the markets will need lots of time to lick their wounds and heal and only when the markets are quiet and healing will I get in to buy.
If you try to catch the wild swoings, that is gambling and as for shorting the markets, that is gambling and generally, when you gamble, you will lose everything eventually (if you don't stop and continue to gamble even after losses or after making profits)... unfortunately you cannot buy my book on gambling yet, because in there contains much more relevant information that you need to consider when it comes to gambling.

Yes, if you believe that the GST increase was to help the poor and the 21% increase was because of forward contracts of fuel and nothing could be done about it and when assbaby talked about "fixing" the opposition it was a slip of the tongue and not a character flaw.
If Singaporeans starts to demonstrate on the streets, that might really happen.

From my talk with Singaporeans, maybe I hang out with the right crowd, nobody is panicking. They are a little concerned but you can sense that they can hardly be categorized as panicking. It could be that Singaporeans are basically apathetic people. The real reason, I believe is that it has happened, this financial fiasco, so fast, it seems unreal. -
From what I've seen so far..
AndrewPKYap, you dish out all the hard facts and sit back in front of the computer, typing away about how everything will go down south (Yes we do believe now, thank you). But I'm sure your kind intentions can be further improved from your usual style of only sitting back in front of your computer, warning and scolding your so-called "silliporeans"?
And Mummified, you blast out at others for criticizing AndrewPKYap's so-called cursing-and-swearing (well, it is the truth that he keeps cursing and swearing.. so.. hmm.. ). It is constructive criticism, the allegations of him cursing and swearing is not uncalled for, there's some truth to it.
I'm pretty sure ya'all have alot of experience, having observed the political scene for so long ya? I suggest, why not ya'all gather up ur experiences and come up with practical ideas to bring your ideals to light? Instead of just building up your support from the internet?

Hi superlibra, yes, sometimes i do feel that he curses too much but, i would rather keep this thread with less curses from others asking the ts to stop cursing and listen to wat the ts have to say and give more constructive comments.
I'm sure theres alot of ppl who would like to bring their ideas to light, at this point of time other than through internet, do you have any better source in which they can do so ?
