Just said u sold yr backside and a guy came to u and have a good f but refused to pay you, what u will be,still no $,right!!! sue him loh and then the fucker went to a bank for $ but no $ to lend him, later on, you suffered from A and have no $ to pay 4 yr hospital bill and no meals and no drinks, a crisis is then ensued.
Marine ship repairers have a lot of orders like cosco and keppel corp which can lst untill 2010 but they could not get payment from the shipping and oil rigs owners now due to credit crush, that explained their shares prices today.
R u "understand" ?
I understand, but all credit and order of any kind can be withdraw due to credit crisis, same goes to the intergrated resort, investment is a risk, even you talk about singtel or other blue chips is still a risk, but for my experiences so far, i hv gain alots from investing in marine these few years thru my Dad investment account, it was said to be a sunset industry in the 90s, and the share went downhill, my Dad invested then. So, i believe all stock are affected, but to look for a quick gain or fast buck, marine is still good at it counters. NOL buying Hapag LLoyd.

All the profit etc should have mostly already been priced in on SMRT. Its price might go up (because oil price drop etc), but I would avoid it.
Bite some blue chip. Bite some really bombed out penny stocks. But I think important is to only take very small nibble and watch. I am telling myself every time I bite a little I force myself to wait 3 months before I take another bite.
Wondering if this approach make sense...?

Wrong, my predication is all the money and profit earned shall channel to DBS, after DBS had settle all it obligation in regard to lehman bros investment and mini bonds, it shall regain it composure to up it tempo. And currently, it is doing the payout and waiting to recuperate from it owner injection of money, and of course, the owner is the govt of Singapore.

Depends on what you mean by make sense, (in your case, it makes no difference). There are a few things that make sense and here are two,
1. wait until the bottom of the cycle to go in and wait for the top of the cycle to get out and you might have to wait up to ten years (if you have identified the top of the cycle, you have to be brutal and get out even if it is a loss).
2. sometimes good companies go bust (or good companies get bad new management and go bust or they go bust due to external factors) and so you always buy with money you can afford to lose
These are the two most important rules.
If you rather "play" the market instead of waiting up to 10 years, and you can do all kind of crapz, you will learn the hard way.
To learn the easy way, buy my book when it comes out... hahahaha....

.... and when will that be.... I assume it's this century....
.... but maybe you are only joking, right? after all, you are so fond of joking.
.... maybe work with Jason to have a bulk discount for all sgforumers....
Agree.
Always invest with money that I can afford to lose.
ST Index
wah lao, the stock I bought on Monday, I cant even add positions at a lower price because on the day that the SGX goes down -131.96 (my stock was up this morning and now unchanged)
This just goes to show what sort of pharked up policies the asspots have been making for the country.
Damned Dishonorable Despots, arrogant liked pharked and refused to listen to anybody and worse of all, persecuted dissidents and opposition that tried to tell then that they are going in the wrong direction.
This time, silliporeans will suffer big time for keeping quiet when the despots persecuted dissident and opposition voices, allowing them to do what phark they want.

I know, but I dumped a long time ago and so I am looking to buy but with the looming depression, high dividends stocks in "recession proof" industries that has come down mindlessly with the general market; those are what I want to buy.
...yeah, at this point, up or down is meaningless to me because I bought it for the dividends but "UP" shows that many people have the same idea as I do.
"Down" is OK, because I can buy more, at a cheaper price (and get the same dividends). "UP" is comforting (mainly ego)... so actually DOWN is better at this point until I reach my budget for the stock.

care to share which ones you looking at? Via pm probably?
I also buying dividend stocks... learned a lesson of averaging down too early... hence losing the chance to get those stocks at a higher dividend rate :(

...not at this time.... too risky to buy stocks (unless for dividends in recession proof industries, like I said)
