If you read Douglas Chua's Crisis in the Straits, there are some parts where Singaporean troops engage Malaysia troops. The story is kinda far-fetched, the english terribly singaporean in structure and seems like an episode of triple nine but the subtitle "Malaysia Invades Singapore" is kinda catching... Go to any good bookstore and take a look at the Local section...

It's bad writing, I bought it just because of it's contreversial content. The english was a pain to read and sian lor, we never smite the malaysians with the mighty Apache!

Douglas Chua's "Crisis in the Straits" must have been written to capitalise on the current events that have been fanned by some of the 'nukes' thrown at Malaysia by SgForum participants (???).
No one can blame him for "making hay while the sun shine" - especially when there is a market out there for his kind of writing. -

Were there any close encounters of war with Malaysia so far? Heard that we almost had one in 1998/1999 over the railway station problem as well as many other problems. Tension was pretty high then.
