why are we so hung up about top this top that? as one of the quoted person says in the article, other cities moving up doesn't mean singapore got worse per se.
in any case, best place to leave is only for the `filthy haves'. if you are on the other side of the fence, this means nothing.
Quality of Living is not Quality of Life.
Life <> Living.
Living is small part of Life.
If the place you live in has the following characteristics:
1. Have to work longer hours than countries like New Zealand, Australia, European countries
2. Under constant High Pressure of being replaced by lower cost Foreign workers. Especially as one ages and there is no end to inflow of foreigners competiting for your rice bowl.
3. Working in an environment where Salary is very competitive (as in not very high) where cost of living is forever increasing at rates faster than salary growth - case in point : not much of oil subsidy compared to overseas, higher and higher cost of transportation both public and private ones, rising cost of medicine and medical services, education cost, inflation, low low interest rate banks give you, overpriced housing etc.
4. A place where on weekends or after work there is absolutely no nice and wonderful nature and scenery to enjoy to relax. things like nice cool and dryer weather, prestine mountains, skii resorts, natural springs and spas, beatiful landscape of nature, countryside, beautiful lakes, trekking on the mountains, quiet and peaceful resorts etc. Work and work with no place to really relax the heart and mind. Can die younger than expected.
Your Quality of Life is surely nothing to top about.
Quality of Living is something like , clean places, clean public areas, safe place.
Quality of living <> Quality of Life.
Life is great!
