Increasing the catchment area is just one way
to maximise the water supply from local catchments.
In reality, the catchment size contributing to a

This mismatch results in rainwater going to waste.

Reservoir Integration Scheme to connect
various reservoirs through a system of pumps and pipelines.

Before the NEWater and first desalination plant built by Hyflux
(the Hyflux plant subsequently
sold to Cityspring),50% of water demand came from Malaysia.see A

kicked in.This is equal to 1,320,000 cubic meter or 1.32 million m3.
In the beginning of this century,gavaman estimated water demand increase
to 400 mgd in 2011!!They are wrong for good and expected reasons--
advance in NEWater and desalination technology!!

History of Catchment areas
Again,SG is one of the first countries to use highly urbanized areas
as water catchement areas.Any problems of the water?
Look at your old aged grand/parents.Are they ok?
Currently,half of the main Island is catchment which provides
half of water demand,ie about half of 1,250,000 m3 a day!!

recycleing water--NEWater.This is much less than the future Queensland--

Most of the NEWater go to factory ,office towers,wafer plants ,
etc for processing,air--cond cooling water etc.
In the Marina East new office towers,all
get cold water from District Cooling Plant.
There is no air--cond plants in the The building .
This save few % of gross floor area and increase owner rental income$$.
