Then, water will be pumped to Upper Peirce Reservoir.
From there,Water will flow to other reservoirs if full.
Water flow to cannals for recreational purposes,as part of ABC.
Hey lionnoisy, you still haven't replied to the 40mm ABM thread.
How do you justify your claim that STK is the first or even unique in this field given all the examples I have cited?
Do u think i hit this thread when i cant sleep to make it 5 digits hits?

Bye bye MY water by 2011--(Pt 1)
Bro,how many thread can get over 10,000 hits?
You seem to be forgetting the fact that people visit your threads to see how you get pwned and for the fact that you are simply funny to watch get defeated.
For some reason, you seem to think that having a high number of hits is a sucess, when actually it reflects on your failure.
As of yet, what about the many threads you've abandoned and don't dare to answer?
Dare to answer?
Or shall I post a whole links of threads you have abandoned because you got defeated?
Would you like more hits to those topics so people can see?
LOL, use your common sense... as usual.
Try logic, not hits on your thread.
Since you want more hits, let me help you get more hits to these theads.
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/312926
Mini Cvs??? What on earth is that? Watch lionnoisy get pwned as he does not know the basic difference between ship classes and thinks F-18s can be launched off helicopter landing ships.
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/306926
Fantail crash into targets? lionnoisy suggests that our 100k SGD UAVs can be used in the suicide role by crashing them into cheap and rapidly replacable targets like a 3,000 dollar machine gun. Despite being badly pwned, he makes a desperate attempt by challanging people to show him UAVs smaller then FANTAIL (claiming it was the smallest in the world), when showed a full list of UAVs smaller then FANTAIL, he quietly slipped out from the thread and didn't dare to answer.
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/310722
In his FUNNIEST idea yet, lionnoisy suggests equipping our soldiers with inline skates to save fuel from normal transport as well as moving around faster in battle, claiming it will save lives. However the fact that moving over any other terrain other then roads, moving up stairs and taking cover is virtually impossible to such a soldier is lost on him.
Amazingly he tries to argue on his point until he's totally defeated and once again, quietly slips out.
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/321267
Trying to revive an old thread in a new form, lionnoisy once again tries to toot Singapore's horn by claiming it is the first, and leading in the field of air bursting 40mm munitions. He also tries to tout STK's technology as superior to the American next generation smart grenade format that is not only far superior, but more advanced then anything STK has come up with.
When he failed to win that point, he tried to say that STK's advantage was that it had such technology in production... when showed a whole host of examples of other nations doing the same even better, and even better then STK, he was once again, lost for words.
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/314188
By ignoring, or simply being ignorant of tonnage, displacement as well as general military knowledge, lionnoisy mixes up the role of the brown water and blue water navy and tries to say that the RSN is superior to the RAN (Australian navy) because it has more ships... unfortuntately he tries to advance the idea that the Australians needs a ship to protect every inch of their 18,000 km coastline, a feat even the largest navy, the USN cannot do and misses out entirely on the fact that the Australians have JORN as well as combatants more then capable of doing the job.
He keeps trying to argue his point until an Australian has to come in and shut him up. As usual he slips out quietly again but returns months later in an attempt to revive it using old arguments only to get shot down by old rebuttals. Same old lionnoisy, same own heavy pwning.
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/310955
lionnoisy tries to advance the "fact" that the SAR-21 is superior to the TAR-21 because it can be carried in one hand by the scope handle and "run for your life", unfortunately he is shot down badly and the fact revealed that he not only lacks military knowledge, but only fired 20 rounds in his entire LIFE!
Note his attempt to describe military tactics by coming up with a fantasy situtation in which a soldier has to cross 50meters of open ground under heavy fire... in his opinion holding the SAR-21 like a shopping bag not at the ready and unbalanced in one hand is the way to do it.
Not surprisingly, lionnoisy was shot to pieces, and once again slipped out quietly.
LOL.
Maybe you want more hits to this thread?
I think it needs more hits...
"Oz Judge ban TV drama & interview glorify gangland wars" a thread in which lionnoisy, so desperate for support, creates a clone called "makepeace" to support himself.

LOL
PWNAGE.
With the hot weather here, and more people coming in. That means less water for the people to use and drink.
Intergrations of reservoirs (use pipes to connect reservoirs as shown above)
is not just for fun.
This sys reduce the waste from over flow of water from impounding
reservoirs. When 1 reservoir is full,Water can be transferred to other reservoirs.
Increasing the catchment area is just one way
to maximise the water supply from local catchments.
In reality, the catchment size contributing to a
reservoir may not coincide with its storage capacity.
This mismatch results in rainwater going to waste.
To address this, we have embarked on a
Reservoir Integration Scheme to connect
various reservoirs through a system of pumps and pipelines.
In this way, the Public Utilities Board (PUB) will be
able to pump excess water from one reservoir
to another for storage. The Scheme is slated
for completion in 2006.

About 50% of water comsumed in 1980 and 1994 was extracted locally.
This was made possible by
---increasing reservoirs capacity
---enlarge unprotected water catchment(urban area)
---use of reclamation (This was used at least in 1972)
50 % of water still extracted locally
Storm water ponds helps to achieve this.read Part I postings.
How to be water independent
---10% by desalination plant (commissioned)
---30% by NEWater by 2011(top officals etc alreday confirmed this)
---10% by Marina Reservoirs and intergrations of reservoirs by 2011
---max 10% by seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) membrane

Is there any use if we spend billions in building our water resources, while at the same time recovering these investments through the utility bills that keep increasing - and leading Singaporeans into greater debts ?
Singaporeans must be numbed to the shock that - ‘Two surveys by the Dept of Statistics, Household Expenditure Survey 2003 and General Household Survey 2005, showed that 40% of Singapore Households not only had declining incomes but were also unable to pay their monthly bills !’.
In a 2007, the Department of Statistics again confirmed that even as Singapore achieved a First World GDP per capita of US$29,000 - ‘Singapore income gap widens with economic boom’.
Singapore's Gini co-efficient, a measure of income inequality, has worsened from 42.5 in 1998 to 47.2 in 2006 - and is in league with the Philippines (46.1}, and Guatemal (48.3), and worse than China {44.7}.
Where is the remainder of our money - after deducting those losses in the wild overseas financial fantasy adventures made by GIC and Temasek ?

Try not to trip over yourself and you may at least learn to begin in some lessons in humility by not taking youself so seriously; and learn from others whom you already had acknowledge "come from different background and experiences" - whose sum total experience surely far exceed that of your little pompous self ?

Can we trust your technique of decision making - "Take the best policy OVERALL - NOT the good one" ?
When all the good one's are not taken, and all the mediocre ones are put together - {leaving out the bad and the worst} - do we need to wonder why Singapore is such a mediocre society and truly become a member of the First World Countries - but to live in the fantasies of the printed page of LKY's memoirs ?

this is a cowardly cop-out from the MIW. they are running out of ideas and compromizing on their own whiter-than-white principles of governance.
if the singapore press were independant, LKY would have been ridiculed publically for this reversal. i would have loved to see him eat humble pies in person.
Below:the % of built up area in the new catchments (dark green)
of Marina and Seletar / Serangoon Reservoirs
are very high.I expect the yield of water extracted per km2 from
this new water catchment will be higher than existing catchment
(light brown).Blue are existing reservoirs.
Therefore, water extracteded from the future catchments in Singapore
,covering two-third of total land area of 709 km2,will be at least
70 % of local demand.

No need worry about water supply
Before the NEWater and first desalination plant built by Hyflux
(the Hyflux plant subsequently
sold to Cityspring),50% of water demand came from Malaysia.see A
Let us see how SG to replace this 50%.
U wil say hi the demand will be increased.
I will answer u later.Currently,i estmate not more than 40% of water
comes from Malaysia.
Malaysia water, accounting for 50% of demand as at 2001,
have been replaced and will be replaced by:
30 % of SG demand by 2011:Few NEWater plants completed.30% when Changi
.................................WRP completed .15%
currently from NEWater.
10% of SG demand: Hyflux Desalination Plant was completed in 2002.
7% desalination:Tuas Power 4-in-1 plant by 2011.
10% of SG demand:from increase of catchment area fr half of SG to
two-third.
.........(Completion circa 2011.assume new catchment of 100 km2
not so effective. But May be .............more effective than existing catchment.)
8% of SG demand: from intergration of reservoirs est completion
2010.
10% of SG demand:from variable salinity plant which is in large
scale demonstration level
If successful, it can potentially increase the water catchment area in Singapore from 67 per cent to 90 per cent.
let say also not so effective,
say 10 % of SG demand.
TOTAL:75% increase of suppply able to replace Malaysia's supply of 50%
in 2001 .Currently is estimated at not more than 40%.Hyflux desalination plant replaces the 10%!!
Sales of potable water still less than 2002
waste water can be treated to make NEWater and Industrial water.
Therefore,we just need to concern supply of raw water for potable water.
u may heard gavaman mentioned of 300 million gallon per day of water demand.
This include potable water and Industrial water, before NEWater and desalination
kicked in.This is equal to 1,320,000 cubic meter or 1.32 million m3.
In the beginning of this century, gavaman estimated water demand increase
to 400 mgd in 2011!!They are wrong for good and expected reasons--
advance in NEWater and desalination technology!!
Drops in water sales in 2002 to 2004 may be caused by bad economy!!
Not a good news.

History of Catchment areas
Again,SG is one of the first countries to use highly urbanized areas
as water catchement areas.Any problems of the water?
Look at your old aged grand/parents.Are they ok?
Currently, half of the main Island is catchment which provides
half of water demand,ie about half of 1,250,000 m3 a day!!
Read the maps in this pagev for coverage of catchment.
Dunt litter for good reasons--dunt polluate your own drinking water!!
NOTE:
A.We can confirm from Malaysia that only half from MY!!
http://www.sgforums.com/forums/10/topics/200078
B.NEWater is ultra pure water for manufacturing, washing, cooling,
air--conditioning(District Cooling Plant in CBD),making of IC wafers etc
C.Industrial water---lower grade water for industrail uses
...
many SG and Malaysia will think we need drink NEWater
becos we really have to.
Wrong.Only 1 % of the potable water come from sewage
recycleing water--NEWater.This is much less than the future Queensland--
Recycled sewage will comprise between 10 per cent and 25 per cent of the water supply for the 2.6million residents of southeast Queensland after flows to the Wivenhoe Dam from the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project begin early next year.

Most of the NEWater go to factory ,office towers, wafer plants ,
etc for processing,air--cond cooling water etc.
In the Marina East new office towers, all
get cold water from District Cooling Plant.
There is no air--cond plants in the The building .
This save few % of gross floor area and increase owner rental income$$.
The NEWater is very ultra clean , saving time and $$ to maintain the
pipies and machines!!
