Will life in Singapore improve if the head/the leader of the country view the nation as losers? Seems PAP, lky, lhl are the only winners in this country.
Singapore (UPI) Feb 8, 2008 UPI Editor at Large Arnaud de Borchgrave interviewed Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew on Feb. 2. The following is the text of the interview.
Q: In fact, democracies don't produce great statesmen anymore. Why? A: You now have, and I don't know how long this phase will last, mass media domination, owned by a group of media barons who want constant change for their balance sheets. Q: So how do you see the future of capitalism? A: As chairman of the equivalent of our Sovereign Wealth Fund, we examine and decide where to invest our money, in equities or bonds or what have you. Our fund managers are paid five times what I get. Why? Because they have had good track records in growing our fund and we know what they could command in the private sector. They are dealing with billions of dollars every day and must be compensated accordingly. Unbridled capitalism, winner takes all like in America, does not work unless you can cope with an underclass. So here we also stay with the losers, make sure they have enough to live on, with healthcare, equal education opportunities for their children whose parents can no longer afford it. It's very important they not feel abandoned. So we have workfare and ingenuous ways to keep them working as we don't want layabouts doing nothing. We also subsidize homes which they would not be able to buy. A society can only survive if there is a sense of equity and fair play.

What is your definition of losers? I see you love to live among the losers, so I suppose you are one of the losers.
Losers are those who don't agree with the way PAP runs the country and yet go against their conscience to vote for PAP. ---> 66.6% voters
majority who buy toto are losers ...... dont u agree? ![]()

He is not refering to those only, he is referring to Singaporeans as a whole. Thus base on this I consider lky a loser himself.

its one thing that the people who are to be served are serving the servants instead. its another thing, in fact an outrage for the people who are to be served are serving the servants instead and being called degradtory names by the insolent servants.

if lky thinks that those who lives in hdb flats are losers, then he is the mother of all losers for he is their leader! he is also responsible for shaping or closing their minds of singaporeans as he controls the education system and the mass media.

that's to be expected and what else can they say.
SINGAPOREANS ARE NOT LOSERS!!!!
Quite disturbed and offended by this statement?...
Singaporeans are not losers, they are the hard working country man who served NS, law abiding and educated as well...
if there are any losers, its those foreign workers...
Just remember, losers are not born , they are made. With such a system of tight contraints, people are not realising their potential.

As long as Singaporeans are under the rule of this man, we can never be happy.
That is why I want Lee Kuan Yew to die.
Lee Kuan Yew, don't make me wait too long.
I get impatient.
VERY IMPATIENT.
When can I take a look at your dead face, Lee Kuan Yew?
