Young Singaporeans wake up... the Sunday Times headlines is selling propaganda that you life-style puts you in debt...
...even before you were born, your indebtedness was engineered by the despots when they decided to push up property prices and cause prices for cars, medical services and other necessities every young person takes for granted in any developed country...
Support Dr Chee in his effort to ensure that the best and not the cronies get into public office….
sigh... everytime I make a post, sgforums add lots of gibberish.... here it is again....

The only problem with singaporeans supporting Dr Chee, according to my 'intelligence' in singapore is his image was badly painted.
.well, it is about time the young wake up to the propaganda that was aimed at Dr Chee and the propaganda by the people taking their money telling them it is their fault....

...if they come and fix a nobody like me then the situation in Singapore must be getting so serious, the only wise thing to do is escape from this paradise for ass-licking dogs and to qualify for political assylum might come in handy....
...I am no martyr like Dr Chee.... hahahaha... just kidding....

what the?
first post was wall of gibberish
Were the people featured made to buy brand new cars, 3G phones, handbags, air tickets and alcohol at knifepoint by the MIW? Is spending within their own means no longer their responsibility?
Don't paint your own rosy picture of the life of young people in other countries. Have you ever serviced a mortgage? Do you know that many of my mates work for their own groceries, second-hand cars and holidays from young, and have student loans to pay back?
Andy, Andy, you also fell for the media trap. By highlighting those who are in serious debt, the papers make it seem worse than it really is. Go look up the figures and you'll find that there are still plenty of people who are able to at least keep their debts down as well.

Do you have empirical evidence to support your claims that everybody buys brand new car, 3G phones, air tickets and alcohol?
If you do that and booze your brain to a pea size, doesn't mean everybody else is doing it.
Please provide evidence for your claims.
Maybe your theory is based on the social chit chats with bimbo babes after a few alcoholic beverages.
Evidence Please.

Back at Andrew as well. And since I was refering to the people who spend beyond their means, I shaln't answer your question. And the jealousy and ad hominem card can't compensate for your linguistic handicap, chum. ![]()

How many percent of these are you referring to?
1%, 0.5%, 0.01%?
If the value is as low as these, then how do you justify affecting 100% of the population in 30s. So please provide evidence for the percentages of 30s in your population of 30s.
Nadah. Don't have time to get jealous with lower life forms. I was just correcting your erroneous logic.
Evidence for your claims please Kuali.
If you don't know if 1% or 100% does what you say they do, then how can you be certain that it affects the whole strata of that population.
Don't base your logic and arguments on misconceived notions, it's foolhardy.
If you walk around Orchard and see lots of Ferraris and Porsches, doesn't mean that everybody in Singapore are driving Ferraris and Porsches.
When I walk around some 2 rooms to 3 rooms HDB flats I see alot of poor people, some with loan shark notices pasted near the lift landings. Does it mean that all Singaporeans are in debted to loan sharks?

Use some cow sense (so-called not because the critters are slow but rather even they can get it). And while you're at it, brush up on your social and linguistic skills as well. Those are better ways to spend your time than trying in vain to score points. ![]()

Ermmm...
I am asking for you to stake your claims by providing empirical evidence.
There you go beating around the bush.
A kind word of advice, try to reduce your intake of alcohol, it doesn't do good for the brain. Serious. I will be nice and post supporting evidence unlike you.
Difficulty walking, blurred vision, slurred speech, slowed reaction times, impaired memory: Clearly, alcohol affects the brain. Some of these impairments are detectable after only one or two drinks and quickly resolve when drinking stops. On the other hand, a person who drinks heavily over a long period of time may have brain deficits that persist well after he or she achieves sobriety. Exactly how alcohol affects the brain and the likelihood of reversing the impact of heavy drinking on the brain remain hot topics in alcohol research today.
We do know that heavy drinking may have extensive and far–reaching effects on the brain, ranging from simple “slips” in memory to permanent and debilitating conditions that require lifetime custodial care. And even moderate drinking leads to short–term impairment, as shown by extensive research on the impact of drinking on driving.
A number of factors influence how and to what extent alcohol affects the brain (1), including
This Alcohol Alert reviews some common disorders associated with alcohol–related brain damage and the people at greatest risk for impairment. It looks at traditional as well as emerging therapies for the treatment and prevention of alcohol–related disorders and includes a brief look at the high–tech tools that are helping scientists to better understand the effects of alcohol on the brain.
Kuali Baba,
If you don't have evidence to support your claim, then don't say that everybody in their 30s buys new cars, 3G phones, handbags, air tickets and alcohol.
It's subjective and not objective.
If you have the evidence to your claims, please post it, we would like to see.
Let's see, the money the young spends on transportation and housing should not be calculated when they become indebted and only the money they spend for entertainment must be taken into consideration?
Wow I want some of whatever drugs you are on if it is legal....
....the young anywhere in the world parties hard... but Singaporean youths are supposed to live like monks and nuns and pay exhorbitant prices to the despots for basic necessities?
That is not despicable?
Very despicable...
