By the way, do other countries also count PR and foreigners when coming up with their population statistic?
yes, they do too. but sub-divide categories like: (citizens, PRs, work pass holders, citizens/PRs overseas) = total population

Being a PR, can already enjoy most, if not, more benefits than being a Singaporean, why anyone will be so stupid to give up their own citizenship to convert?
if they want to jump ship again to western countries like usa, uk, australia, they will convert so to get a singapore passport to work over there... like a springboard.
the benefits of a PR is lesser in phrases currently such as reduced subsidy for them like medical/ housing/ other govt services...etc.
I think most of the PR initially not interested to convert to Singaporean because may be they will still can enjoy some benefit here and thinking of they will take back all the CPF and retire in their home contries which lower cost living, but eventually after they got married their mind set changed because of their children study, child care subsidy, discrimination from singaporean children etc
actually how many PR can afford without subsidy with childrens for long term staying in singapore? so finally the environtment forced them to convert and sacrifice for their childrens....

Interestingly in Singapore, Singaporeans and PR are grouped as "Singapore Residents". The exact figure for the population of Singaporeans and PR here is no longer released.

Its cruel how life sucks, but its life. Eventually they dont stay. But other countries benefit from singapore losing skilled PRs.

I think it is true esp they worked in this country for a couple of years, they decided to pack their bag n go.
Do you all know why most of the PRs still dilema in converting to s'porean? I think mainly because of their CPF will sure be capped also, actually, its understandable.. who willing to let their hard earned money controlling by other people after half leg already step into the coffin

Acording to the paper today, a tota of no 17000 PR changed to become local citizen a puzzling thing is how many of these will choose to migrate after getting their local
passport. According to many local, some of these converts were merely using the local passport as a convinient tool of travelling esp no visa is required if using local passport.
